Personally I don't think armaan is doing any type of EMA. I know there's thing called emotional cheating but for me those are emotional cheaters who want to commit physical adultery and ruhi is an emotional cheater because she wants that through 'beech ka rasta'. Armaan doesn't. Ruhi is important part of the story but the actor playing ruhi is doing a very bad job this is why it makes it hard to watch her scenes

Jo Ruhi ki life, uski izzat bi bachana chahta hai. Agr koi aur hota to Ruhi ko ab tk slap mil gya hota.

BT she actually needs that slap only. But I think soon, Abhira will do the honour.

This plot is actually way better than ghum. There's far less.toxicity, ML is a softie and non toxic and biggest difference is armaan and ruhi ( armaan especially) has to face consequences. In ghum both ML and PL faced zero repercussions for the mistakes and borderline crimes theu committed

My only fear is after the truth reveal to poddars writers will give clean chit to.ruhi and she will escape the consequences unlike armaan. She knows she has goenkas to fallback on. Armaan will have nobody perhaps apart from abhira. Everyone will bash him only
