In ParishistParvan the story is very different, Subandhu reveals Chanakya killed Durdhara, Bindu became angry and accuses chanakya of death of his mom, Chanakya leave but makes arrangements to teach Subandhu lesson. Chanakya starts meditating, Durdhara's daasi reveals to Bindusara that her mom died due to eating poisoned food of his father which was done by chanakya solely to save Chandragupta from poisonous foods and Vishkanyas and he had to kill Durdhara in order to save Bindu. There he found a perfumed bottle but it was written that who would smell it would die unless he becomes a monk. He used the bottle on some other person and he died. So to save himself, Subandhu became a monk but it was only superficial so everyone hated him.

Bimala is that lady who is always with Diana and does comedy. She is second wife of Bindusara in the show

Didn't know that version of the story. Just knew about the poison part, Chanakya blamed by Bindusara and Bindu trying to makes amends when he learn the truth but it was late.

I don't even know who Subandhu is.

Subandhu's name is in ParishistParvan and in one other source but in that source he was imprisoned by Chanakya and later Subandhu escaped to Avanti 😑🙄 but Parishist Parvan story is more popular. The end of Chanakya was brutal in every version.

More about Devshok 😱 he preferred Asandhimitra beside her while marriage with Karu is not clear how it happened but mostly she is considered as Tisyarakshita and by that means she would arrive in his old age

"live in sin", like seriously?! Ever heard of gandharv vivah? And even if a wedding wasn't recorded, that doesn't mean Devi was insignificant or they should portray her as in A Shock!!

It would be better if Ekta closes her PH altogether, as her quality of shows majorly sck!

Different scholars have different approaches, living in sin meant Gandharva Vivah. It was looked down upon. Devi or Karuwaki were not insignificant but also not too important. In fact only Agramahishi was significant enough to have some power. So Ashok's Agramahishi was Asandhimitra so therefore the focus on both Devi and Karuwaki is wrong. Karu shouldn't be given any importance. Whenever she is given unnecessary importance, the show or movie or even novels become flop 🤣😂 Ashok calling Devi unwedded consort somehow makes it suspicious. But probably he meant Gandharva Vivah not properly taken pheras and other stuff. Therefore she didn't follow him to Patliputra. She was his wife though, no doubt.

Their children were born two years apart means Devi and AShock stayed together for quite some time. Maybe Devi is not made the chief queen because she doesn't belong to some Royal families. Still she holds some importance in Ashock's life.

But Karuwaki doesn't hold that much importance still Bollywood and tellywood made her heroine in Ashock's life.

I don't know what living in sins means? But legally kings don't marry every woman that come in his life or he gets physical with. Still if they stayed together for some years means she was much more meant than beauty to AShock that is mentioned in this book.

Exactly, the Graffiti which he made for Devi and Sanchi Stupa are proofs he greatly loved and respected Devi. Yes he loved Asandhimitra a lot but Devi he can't ever forget as she was mom of his two really well learned children and was his first experience of love , both emotional and physical 😢 Devi deserves so much more respect than she gets in movies. There is massive need for Karuwaki to go in background in popular media.

I wish there is some PH who is fearless enough to shed lights on the truth rather than these myths.

They should research properly before taking any great figures before presenting them on TV.
