Maybe he thinks to himself that one of the way to escape the marriage and get Imlie to confess her “crimes” if she committed any, is to make her believe that he is Agastya with memory loss.

Because when he was pretending to be Agastya’s ghost/atma/fake hallucination, he said “I’m about to marry Binni”. Let’s say he somehow manages to convince her, it would explain Imlie marrying him as in her mind she’d think that it’s her Babu. And then after the marriage, he could reveal that he tricked her for revenge. It would complete the threats he gave her when they met, if the writers haven’t forgotten them.

Now unbeknownst to him, maybe he actually is August Babu. But no matter what this would create tension. Imlie wouldn’t trust him no matter what and even if he were to actually gain his memory back slowly, she wouldn’t believe him for a good while. After a lot of angst and tashan filled moments, his life could be in danger, he gets his full memory back after another accident. Imlie realizes that it really is her Babu and they have a reunion after a long time.

I’m thinking far but this is the closest thing to a theory my brain can cook up without dubao-ing myself in too much hope.

Maybe what you are saying works Kashish but aaj koi theories nahin - my brain is just not working. My heart is aching for Imlie who just loves Agastya with such deep attachment. I don't have it in me to see Imlie being duped like this by Surya. Whatever be the reason Surya pretending as Agastya is too much and he better get 1 or 2 slaps by Imlie for doing this.

Aaj no theories - I have decided I will take what the writers want to give. In the end I just want Imlie to have a good life and a closure to her pain, guilt and anguish of losing Agastya. If it is going to come via Surya then so be it.

See if the makers wanted to kill Agastya and make Surya Imlie end game they wouldn't show the below:

1. Agastya do fake marriage with Binni instead of a real one. They had to show Agastya as a bad person so Surya could elevate.

2. Imlie ka unending love and devotion for her dead husband even after his death will not let her ever fall for Surya (same face or not).

3. They haven't established Surya as a partner potential. His character is still sketchy. The best way to move to the new jodi was to discredit the old male lead and highlight the good qualities of the new male lead. The makers are not doing this - purposely or unintentionally.

4. The injuries on his back and his headaches may leave an opening for him to be Agastya with a memory loss. They didn't show Agastya ka face in the funeral scenes.

5. What was the need to show Imlie married to Agastya if he was going to die immediately after? He could have given her the promise even as her lover na.

6. Imlie wanted her maang to be filled with pyar ka sindoor. Surya will fill her maang this time but it won't be pyar. Not atleast from her end.

7. A few actions of Surya are very dubious. Yeh log kuch bhi dikhaye I will not believe Surya is a different character and this is not coz I want Agastya back desperately.

8. Gul ke liye it's not difficult to kill one character and move on to a new jodi. They are not going all out with Imlie Surya and are still at the fence of it. Why the hesitation?

The story is getting interesting and the old quality of the episodes is back. The focus is on Sai and Addy and such episodes always hold my attention. I hope the trp increases.

Observations about Precap

1) How did Surya know how Agastya behaved or talked like unless the real Agastya personality is hidden in his subconscious memory. Ofcourse Surya gave evil vibe in Agastya get up for trying to manipulate Imlie but still he was able to replicate Agastya mannerisms upto 90%.

2) Surya ne apne pair par khud kulhadi maar liya hai by pretending to be Agastya. If after marriage he indeed turns out to be Agastya then Imlie will not believe him as she will think he is again trying to fool her. Woh sher aaya sher aaya kahani ho Jani.

3) They are really trying to show Sai darker as Surya. Jab woh Agastya banta hai his real fair complexion comes out . Yeh fake Agastya get up mein bhi his fair complexion was visible .

What an episode! I cried buckets during Imlie's monologue, she has embodied her favourite radharani in terms of love and devotion towards "the one that got away"

I also felt like Surya was confused as he was unable to recall the instances Imlie talked about

Also, did someone else feel that Surya was just pretending to be drunk to collect more evidence... as in terms of Binni Tinni, he has nothing to worry about as he can always say that he had asked for time and never really agreed to the marriage

Even if he agrees kal parso mein, he can save himself from the marriage by revealing binni ki sacchai... But pretending to be drunk gave him a chance to observe Imlie from close quarters and identifying her weak spots while having legit deniability ki bhai mujhe to kuch yaad nhi plus dadi k saamne b innocent bana rahega ki drunk tha tabhi Imlie k saath mila

Maybe that observation is what led to this new tactic of pretending to be August Babu which is cruel beyond comprehension especially after Imlie's monologue today....

What’s really sad is that today is probably the first time in a while that we saw Imlie be this carefree since Agastya’s death. And even then her eyes were full of tears, but for once not of pain. She was so beautifully reminiscing about her Babu and what his love has brought to her life.

My heart truly aches for her because we were hearing the sad version of their BGMs, both “Tu Na Mila” and “Bani Teri Joganiyan” and even their lyrics brought me to tears.

This girl loves Agastya so much! After so many years of being alone, she had finally found her home. Someone she was ready to die for and now she’s only living for his sake. She has nothing tangible to remember him by either, only his memories.

She reminds me of the song “Teri Deewani” by Kailash Kher. There was something in her eyes today that really made my heart feel heavy. She really doesn’t deserve to suffer any more. I really want this girl to get the happiness she deserves. This reverence and devotions that she has for her love should not go to waste.

I know we all decided not to speculate if this is Agastya but I can't help it. Today when Imlie spoke about her relationship with Agastya it was so hurting. There's no way they will kill Agastya. Plus the trp has clearly indicated to the makers that the audience wants Agastya back.

Kashish, I agree Binni is doing so well as a villian. Like you can see her tear up when she talks about her loneliness or being a bechari before Dadi and Amrit and even Imlie but she is also strong and can easily manipulate Dadi and doesn't mind lying, robbing and even spiking drinks to protect her fake identity.

I'm glad we have good villains in the story and there's enough issues between Surya and Imlie as well.

Sunaina, I agree that may be Surya ka subconscious was able to replicate Agastya so accurately that even Imlie was confused. Even if they later show Imlie not trusting this is Agastya, he can prove it easily. There are so many memories they have that are private to them. So I am not worried about it..

One of the best episodes after Agastya death track. Dadi ka desperation dekh ke maza aa gaya . This desperation will be 100% higher on main wedding day when whole family will try to find Surya and he may arrive with Imlie as his dulhan. just waiting for that day.

Surya Imlie trying to hid the photograph at various places was funny.

Oh god ,for the first time I felt sympathy for Surya due to those painful headache. The last headache sequence in front of malti and Nirmala didn't had this much impact like today which happened in front of Imlie. Strange how Surya sob story in front of Imlie connected me to his character for first time. Sai did excellent job there with facial expressions. Now that's how you make Traumatic heroes.

Surya didn't remember malti childhood nor when he became police officer. But the only thing he remembered is his father dying to save him which obviously is memory fed up to him by some person so that he feels guilt and continue serving up malti and Amma without doing any uff.

The headache ka koi clean explanation nahi diya hai. Bachpan ki chot is flimsy excuse. It’s definitely the result of Agsatya cliff accident.

Imlie monologue about her love for Agastya was super emotional and heart wrenching. Imlie dialogue "na unse badh ke koi tha na hai aur na hoga" while leaning on Surya shoulder served double purpose . First that Surya could be indeed Agastya and second when Surya will fall for Imlie, her love towards Agastya will pinch him and will make him desperate to make her fall in love with himself.

Dadi ultimatum to both Surya Imlie to not be seen with each other will give us entertaining sequences in upcoming episodes. Both will defy this rule everytime and this will make Dadi go crazy every single time.

Yes even though Imlie was lonely and sad for the very first time she was really carefree - maybe because she was talking about her babu to Surya. All she ever wanted was a family and someone to call her own. If only Agastya was alive she would have spoiled him rotten with all her love. But now fate has snatched her one chance of being happy and on top of it she can not prove that she belongs to him. She has nothing that proves that he is hers yet she lives only for him.

I know right. Sometimes I wonder that Imlie didn't get a lot of time with Babu. They were either misunderstanding each other or fighting the stalker and kidnappers and blackmailers. When they decided to marry, Dadi became a monster and separated them, then those few hours of their real wedding, that's it. Itne kam time main she managed to love him so deeply that her whole being is consumed by her love for Agastya. She's willing to give up her self respect, ignore how the society perceives her relationship, she said nothing touches her. She's so content in her love for him. How will she move on with Surya, it's not possible.

You know such love can happen if you've had a lot of memories, been companions for sometime but here, she has such few memories of their happy time together. I feel so bad for all her dreams of a happy family, all hopes and aspirations of him saying aji sunti ho or making her not sleep at night. Even when I write this I'm crying. Mera dil maan hi nai sakta this is Surya. He has got to be Agastya. Just coz Imlie deserves her selfless love to be reciprocated for life. She is truly a Savitri who will bring her Satyavan back to life.

Waise after years I heard one of my old favorite songs, O Sanam O Sanam from the move Jurm (Bobby deol, Lara and Gul panag). The lyrics go like -

I'm going crazy to relate all songs to Imlie Agastya. They need to bring back songs to the show.
