I don't think YKS was a big TRP getter anyways. It had decent TRPs (around 7-8 if I remember). A similar show could still get that amount of TRPs. The issue is that channels now want shows that can get 10+ TRPs if they have A-list cast and budget. If they can be happy with medium TRPs we may get more shows like YKS.

7-8 trp at that time was huge. Only in 2019 we started seeing trps 10+ or 20+.Even humsafar only had 9 something trp at peak. I remember yakeen ka safar left all the shows who were topping the charts behind at that time in trps n views once the romance started and social media was all about YKS n sahad. It was one of the rare times when the audience preferred quality over masala

I love baraat series the way it tackled so many issues while serving elite comedy. Ramadan romcoms can't relate.

Speaking of Zindagi Gulzar Hai,does anyone feel that it had undertones of misogyny?I felt so(though I liked the show)I feel Kashaf should have been with Osama instead of Zaroon.The latter had problematic views on women and fell for Kashaf because she ticked the boxes of an ideal wife(he himself said this).Infact,I think Umera Ahmed's shows tend to have undertones of misogyny.There is another show which people were praising a lot so I checked its story on Wikipedia to find out if it is worth watching and didn't like it.Can't remember the name of that drama.

oh yeah for sure . The sister was the typical bad wife in dramas because she wore jeans and didn’t want to be at her husband’s beck and call all day .

I just couldn't believe that people like Nisha can exist. She was just another level crazy. Doing it with your own sister. Upar se Emmad's character was cringe as well. He falls for first sister and married her. Suddenly he gets manipulated by Nisha just like that?? But have me sadistic pleasure when Ahmer shows Nisha her place & finally how she literally goes crazy..

Deewangi gosh! Danish was another crazy there. So weird 😂

I wanted Kashaf to marry Osama. Although Zaroon is still better husband comparatively than most of the pak shows nowadays.

YKS is amazing. Just recently rewatched it and its awesome. I liked the messaging that instead of character assassinating girls when they elop, people should try to understand what situation might have led her to take such decision. Also, the way the show subtly shows importance of education . Sadly HUM nowadays rarely produce such drama . Even good shows they ruin by dragging.
