I have a small KP on courtroom tashan..
Abhira's boss (Not Dev) approaches her and gives her a file. It's their next big case. She opens the case file and gets the biggest shock of her life. It's their client vs Dadisa??
Abhira says "Sir! This case? But?"
"Yes. This is the case. Why? Look I know you were absent because you had to endure such trauma. But that doesn't give you a free pass on everything. This is the next case for you. Take it or leave the internship."
Abhira has no choice but to accept the case. She, unwilling to face Dadisa in court but still determined to work hard and achieve her goal, puts on a brave face and says, "No Sir. I didn't mean that. I was just commenting that this is a really big case and I can't believe I am going to assist Dev Sir with this one. This is my great opportunity to shine like a diamond. Thank you Sir."
"That's more like it Abhira." Her boss affirms, glad that his best intern is back.
Abhira couldn't share the little detail of assisting Dev Sir with Armaan as it will be against COC and Charu also doesn't share the same with Armaan for the same reason. Abhira works hard on the case and impresses Dev Sir very much. She puts in a lot of hard work and makes a huge difference in the case. Dev Sir is proud of her and that makes Abhira very happy. But she is unable to share this happiness with her Khadusmaan and is also dreading the day she will face Armaan in the court as an opponent.
Courtroom First Day:
Abhira walks behind her boss Dev who is an enigma himself. Abhira is in awe of her boss. She feels she is very fortunate to work under Dev Shikhawat. They enter the courtroom together while talking animatedly. She can feel Armaan's presence even before her eyes found him. She just hopes their professional rivalry doesn't extend towards their home as well. She hopes to keep her professional and personal life separate. She is extremely nervous of what may follow once Armaan sees her, against him, against the Poddars. For her it's the D-Day. To hide her nervousness she has been constantly chattering with her Boss. And to her great surprise, her boss never interrupted her. Rather he participated enthusiastically. They talked about the case, the firm, the food, the coffee and everything. But mostly they talked about the case only.
Armaan, on the other hand has his back to her. He was talking with his assistance Ved (
). They have been discussing few points that worried them immensely. Suddenly he feels the presence of Abhira, even before her voice reaches him. Puzzled, he turns to come face to face with her. His face lights up instantly on seeing her. He feels lighter and happier by just looking at her. It feels like he has missed her. He checks himself as he realises this. But alas, as if his heart is in his control. Every single day is a new battle for him now days. Time and again, he has found himself checking out Abhira. Time and again he has found himself openly admiring her. It has become a routine to feel a surge of joy just by looking at her. A routine he never wants to break. He has often been wondering about their life after their one year deal and he knows in the deepest recess of his heart that he won't be able to let her go anymore. Day by day, she is becoming the most essential part of him, a part without which he won't be able to live.
Armaan's smile slowly vanishes as he takes in the entire scene before him. Abhira is here to assist her boss in the case against Dadisa. Armaan is mature enough to keep the professional rivalry, professional. He is not agitated because she is here, against him. What riles him up is her demeanor. He knows she has already seen him. But instead of acknowledging, she has ignored him completely. It's like he doesn't exist and is not standing just before her. She has continued to talk with her boss. A boss who looks smitten with her. A boss who is not only encouraging her continuous badbad, but also participating in it with equal fervor. Grrr!!
Abhira is squirming under Armaan's hot gaze. She knows Armaan is extremely angry because of the professional rivalry. But what choice does she have? She has to work harder otherwise her dream of becoming a good lawyer will remain a dream only. She was hoping for a reasonable Khadusmaan, but alas.
Judge enters and everyone rises. After taking their seat, the drama unfolds. Both Armaan and Dev are seasoned lawyers. Abhira watches them with rapt attention, taking notes furiously as the battle rages on. Every single thoughts are driven out of her mind as the drama unfolds. She has only eyes for the two greatest lawyer Udaipur has ever seen.
Armaan is vexed and agitated to say the least. Why the hell is Abhira looking at her boss like that? Why the hell she is not even sparing a glance at him. She is behaving like a complete stranger and that kind of hurts. The grumpy old man in him becomes grumpier as he sees his Abhira smiling, talking, writing with Dev. He knows Dev. He knows the kind of charm he holds and he knows it will be a matter of days or months when Abhira will be completely won over by him.
Armaan, determined to put a break in Dev's enigma and its effects on Abhira, delves deeper in the case. Fueled by the green eyed monster that he refuses to acknowledge, he puts forth his arguments, his case.
The battled turned vicious and a full fledged war. Abhira was so excited as the courtroom drama continues to unfold. Unfortunately, the court had to be adjourned for the day without any conclusion but that is common in law practices. The judge sets the date of next hearing. After which they are dismissed. She senses Armaan coming closer to their bench and immediately tenses up. Hope he doesn't claim to be her husband in front of Dev Sir and thereby effectively firing her. She keeps her finger crossed.
"Well done Dev. I never thought you will be this good." Armaan addresses Dev.
"Same here Armaan. It feels like good old days, isn't it?" Dev reciprotes equally.
"It does. But I don't believe in living in the past. I only look forward to bright future."
"So do I Armaan. So do I. But I have to say, you have improved a lot in the recent years. That's good to see."
"Well, I learned from the bests. BTW who is your new assistant? I have never seen her before."
"Oh! That's because this is her first courtroom case. Usually, interns don't assist you in the court. But she is an exception. Her works and inputs have been greatly beneficial in this case and she has worked really hard. She is one of the best intern I have seen in my life. Even better than you in some ways."
"Really? That's great to hear. I am glad someone in Shikhawat law firm is better than me."
"She is. Anyway, I should introduce you two. Armaan, meet my gifted intern Abhira Akshara Sharma. And Abhira, meet my ex intern and our current worthy opponent Armaan Madhav Poddar"...
To be continued....
