Talking about Fanaa, I just realized Aamir has enacted more negative, grey, obnoxious and unlikable characters than any of his colleagues but somehow only SRK is talked about as the guy who played negative characters. Lack of PR and over enthusiastic fandom has done a disservice to Aamir’s filmography. While SRK’s negative characters were all fictional and OTT, Aamir’s played some of the most realistic and relevant negative/grey characters. Be it the obnoxious guys in RDB and DCH or the innocent romantic turned into a monster because of the circumstances in 1947 E, or the entitled brats turned into responsible people of JJWS and Ghulam, or the utterly brainwashed and evil turned into self aware and hopelessly in love person in Fanaa, he has played all shades of grey and black.

well Aamir never had a diehard base nor tried to establish one and some years he was quiet n stayed out the media out sight out mind. So with him it’s his movies that neutrals or even the other khan bases like but not his personality much. Whereas the other khans it’s their swag or charisma that got them such diehard base and they still around. Regardless these are the 3 superstars by the public.

SRK makes a big deal about everything related to him.

Case in point ddlj that has done almost half of net business and had half of the foot falls of HAHK, yet been dragged in one cinema in one show for the last 29 years.

Fanaa is one of my all-time favorites. But I can see why Aamir fans prefer JJWS since that film is entirely his. In Fanaa, Kajol's role could even be said to surpass Aamir's.

Its not due to that reason, but JJWS was a much much superior film than Fanaa.

In Fanaa Amir and Kajol have equal roles, its just that Amir disappeared for a short amount of time as per the requirement of the script to surprise us later.

JJWS was not a solo Aamir' show, it was more of an ensemble cast.
