It's nice to write this...it's that I'm sure that there hadn't been an affair between PC and SRK (although PC really tried...).

I would agree to the narrative that SRK was fond of her, but he is also fond of Deepika, of Anushka, of Kajol, of Juhi, of Madhuri, of Rani, of Preity, of Nayantara...etc.

The 2 out of 10 times.....he puts his foot in his mouth..........He knows it and he still says it........The other 8 ones which are actually amazing have also gone down the drain....

Does everyone not realize that this is scripted? This was an awards ceremony/event and you can literally see him sitting in a crowd of hundreds if not more. If this was a real proposal, it would be hushed up and not televised in front of a national audience. I think people don't realize that at all these awards, every joke, skit, dance, stunt, etc. is scripted.

You can find this joke not funny or cringy, but to pretend that this was a real proposal is plain ridiculous. And as a few others have said, SRK has had chemistry with pretty much all his heroines. He even was accused of having an affair with Juhi in the 90s. People are forgetting that long before PC was ever even an actress, people were convinced SRK and Juhi were an item. None of these rumors have ever had any credibility.

The only thing that made people have doubts in this case was PC's own reputation and because she was eager to use SRK's name to promote her own. I don't know if she had feelings for him or not (I can see her crushing on him), but her main motive here was not an affair but to just make it seem she did have an affair to keep her name in the press and relevant. This is PC's whole shtick which she's been doing since day one. With Akshay it was an actual affair and he's infamous for his affairs. PC likes to do anything to keep herself in the spotlight, hence why people noted that when her BIL Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner got a divorce, Sophie still followed the entire Jonas family except for PC. Why would she only have hard feelings about her ex-SIL? Because it came out that PC was selling stories to the press about her. It's stuff like this which is why PC used to be my one of my fav actresses and now I wouldn't even bother to rank her because as a human being, she is very mercenary and has no care about the feelings of others.

I stopped reading after this......obviously it is scripted.....but when u are Shahrukh khan......u reserve the right to say NO......This was cringy....and he should have said......I am not saying this....period....He is THE superstar....koi kya ukhaad leta SRK ka??

There are far more tasteless jokes than this, both in Hollywood and Bollywood. The Oscars had a whole song about which actresses bared themselves naked onscreen one year.

SRK's skit is a marriage proposal. How is this problematic when his profession is an actor and he plays roles all the time onscreen where he's romancing other women despite being married in real life? This skit is also a performance and part of his job duties. This is also 2009 so we can't apply contemporary standards on what's acceptable and tasteful to what would not have been frowned upon back then. If we're going to pillorize SRK for this, let's pull up every other similar joke, or worse ones, that other actors and actresses have also done for awards show because I bet it'll be a long list with dozens of pages and SRK's would be at the bottom in terms of most problematic.

If it wasn't PC in this skit, but another actress, say Kajol or Rani, would people still be freaking out? No one would bat an eyelash. Reading all the hysterical comments, I clicked on the video expecting the worst only to be shocked at how tame it was. Seeing PC giggle like a lovestruck teen only makes it even more innocent.

Also aren't you a Ranbir fan? If we're going to complain about problematic individuals who have a long pattern of not keeping it in their pants, let's start with him. I noticed other SRK fans have said you seem to sympathize more with Ranbir now than SRK.

@ Green....Sweetheart.....The only people for whose opinions I care about ...is my family and my 2 kids.......and none of these people give a damn about Ranbir or SRK...

But just to to let you in a little secret......I love Bira but when it comes to BW ....no one even comes close to SRK for me...like not even close.....but for me SRK is a human who makes mistakes.....just the way we all do.....and I will never defend his wrong act.....or for that matter I defend even the actors I don't like.....if I feel that they are being bashed unnecessarily...

I don't see how this was a mistake. He was given a script to perform which he did. Completely ordinary joke that most people wouldn't even care to remember or talk about if it was any other actor or actress involved but because this particular skit involved SRK and PC, it becomes a defamation case against him. Very interesting too that some comments are saying how poor PC must have been traumatized by this, as if she isn't reacting the way any ordinary woman would if SRK proposed to them on national TV.

Some things are not dirty or unclean at all, but people project their own feelings onto rather innocent scenes. In fact, while PC may have started the smoke that there was a relationship going on for publicity sakes, the fact is that she's not even as much at fault as the people who took the bait and turned that smoke into fire.
