That'll happen when there's a proper triangle: Jhanak revealed as Ani's wife, Arshi losing her sanity in spite and Ani stuck between the two. That's the formula to beat Ghum.

Sometimes actors act so well, that it will start conveying things which is not in the script and finally we will feel cheated. I think he had been instructed to give mixed signals, so based on the trp they can take the track in which direction they want.
