Even he wishes the same 😂 actual apology was for the cartoon..not the tweet.

This is a line from his post.. "The same could have been said without adding the cartoon which was published in a newspaper."

I think making fun of Hinduism and Hindu Gods had been so normalized that people don't even realize how offensive this cartoon is to practicing Hindus. You can speak against the horrific incident without bringing Lord Ram or Goddess Sita into it. Also how is generalizing all Ram bhakts as rapists even okay? Can you imagine any celebrity sharing a similar cartoon about other religions? Nope. Then why do these sensibilities vanish when it comes to Hindus?

Also FOE can never be one sided. If Vikrant has the freedom to tweet whatever BS he wants, people have the freedom to criticize it as well. Also calling it "bloodlust" is funny. Nobody is after his life. They are just tweeting about how disappointed they are. This while you guys stay silent about the actual blood lust that's happening.

Also, I don’t like that cartoon but how is it mocking Hindu gods or showing hatred towards Hinduism? Isn’t the point they are trying to make that the kathua rapists are worse than Ravan? I am confused hu how people are interpreting the cartoon. What else could it mean?

Hedwig, you're certainly right with your interpretation of the cartoon but still it is a very wrong way as Ravan is a rapist and bad one, too.

So, no imo to this kind of cartoon (whoever made it as Vikrant didn't make it) - it sends a wrong message (and I fully understand the hurt).

Nevertheless, you're also right in criticising the reactions even after the apology (personally, I found it more unfortunate that he made - even in this - a mistake - although a writing one). The digging out of other - politically coloured - tweets clearly shows what you call "bloodlust"...it's like a 'pack of hounds' chasing him... and latter far too often happens when there is criticism towards the current system.

Vikrant should sign a movie called blood lust and I think this would all subside smiley36

The point it was unintentionally making is that Sita ma was ‘happy’ to be abducted. I don’t even have to be a Hindu and Sita doesn’t even have to be the revered Goddess to get offended by such a flippant way of referring to a woman in a crass cartoon. And I am a pretty mild and non religious person. One can only imagine how a staunch follower can perceive this as.

We were the fools growing up in the 90s, who were busy being secular when everyone else proudly practiced their religion. Today's generation is more conscious and aware of what is going on around them.

Bashing, ridiculing, and mocking Hindu festivals and their beliefs were the norm during those years.
Vikrant Massey did the same, now it's payback time. This is not limited to Vikrant Massey
The reason we feel that these Actors are constantly targeted is because they are responsible for their statements against Hindus. If any actors had made the same kind of statements about Christianity or Islam, I am sure they too would be held accountable today. The question now is would they have ever dared to?
