Ekta tried to tell but no one wanted to believe it, also the story which she showed in Chandra Nandini, that was definitely fictional. Chandragupta disliked Nandini, he left her on the road on her own fate. Chanakya forced him to marry her. Still he kept his distance till she requested him to have a relationship. He then made Durdhara his chief queen.

Exactly, due to constant attacks on him and fatal death of Durdhara Chandragupta broke relationship with her. She was his first wife but still didn't get any love from her husband though she was respected as princess of former dynasty and due to Amatya Rakshasa. Durdhara's place couldn't be replaced by anyone not even Helena. Helena was comfort of Chandragupta but not his soulmate unlike Durdhara who supported him thick and thin and was there for him when he was nobody. A girl like Helena who could be lured by her teenage hormones and gifts can't be soulmate of a wise guy like Chandragupta. Though Helena truly thought her feelings for him was love and truly loved him.
