I feel this show and gen has a great chance of being both TRP toppers and having a huge online fandom as well. Very few shows have both - Online craze for their lead couple and TRPs.
Rishta has a modern ML and FL who are career oriented (which generally isn't the norm in ITV). They are growing on young people online. If they do show career oriented female leads then they show them doing household chores and in laws ki sewa 70% of the time so that her going out to work is justified. But here, people seem to have accepted Abhira as a rebel bahu.
They can focus on building Armaan Abhira's chemistry and love story for attracting young audience. And simultaneously they can show good family drama where Ruhi (after redeeming herself) takes care of the household. This will appease the TRP audience also.
I dont think they need to rely on usual trope of triangle for so long. Even if they bring Rohit back and start a RuHit love story parallel to AbhiMaan's, I am sure it will work with TRP aunties. They can explore so many tracks.... AbhiMaan's love realisation/separation/confession etc. Abhira-Ruhi's sister track and their dynamics change. Getting Abhir back. RuHit's love story. Court room drama scenes with Ar-Ab being against each other or together. Uske pehle Abhira ka college track. Dev-Charu track. Krish-Kajal-Phuphasa track. The list is endless.
