Though I heard that Pretty Little thief is more heart wrenching than Kite Runner.

I am yet to read it though.

Far too many times through the book I took breaks to cry to my hearts content. By the end of the book I was bawling my eyes out at 4am in the morning (hostel mein thi tab)

Main din mein padh rahi thi, and tears were streaming down.

Mom was like why read books that make you cry.

She actually forbade me to buy any books with sad ending for almost a year.

No no. Not at all. I encourage people who never read a book (apart from academics/ entertainment magazines) to read anything even a Chetan Bhagat!!! Atleast something to pique their interest into reading. You think I'll judge you? Not a chance!!

I know few people who came to me once to know from what they should start to pique interest in reading.

So I asked them what you like to watch, they said crime/thriller/mystery, and Harry Potter.

So I told them to start with Harry Potter and sorcerer stone.

Now they read more books than I do, in fact it’s them who tell me what to read be it English or Bangla (if not in Bangla then the English translation of it)
