I liked Adnan and Aditi in KA the show went down the drain with AA concept. He did well in Ishq Suban Allah too..
Ekta worked with AK earlier and she may know his skill set.
Whatever you mentioned which I highlighted in bold takes lot of investment in terms of casting. Ekta's shows these days lack quality, they similar to Made In China products manufactured for the masses with no quality.
Adnan is a serious guy but he is not looking fit in Ashok's Role, I have no probs with him not looking handsome as it's historically accurate but atleast he should dress up like a prince, Bindusara had kept him in good condition, he was not necessarily bullied by his brothers but his skilla made them uncomfortable. Ashok was a son of a commoner and thats why less favoured.

Ekta took personal attention towards all her projects and had some very efficient team ...directors like Anurag Basu, Santaram Verma were there.Nivedita Basu,Tanusree being her creative head....the most efficient at their job!! Once Ekta was a star maker....had fabulous casting team but those things are all past.YHM was good for the 1st yr....then it was horrible. The director of YHM,Randeep Mahadik directed KA for last 2-3 months and the difference in direction between Ravi sir and Randeep Mahadik was starkly visible.I'm not fond of both Dheeraj Dhoopar or Sharad Mslhotra.
