(for once keeping aside the fact that they were exes or whatever promise Ruhi wanted from Armaan)

Because the way she became happy seeing Abhira’s smile and laugh or sad when she was denied toffee, the way she and Abhira worked together to serve the guests, I am not sure if she completely despises Abhira.

She didn't want validation.

That toffee is aashirwad, abhira herself said so

And in the first few episodes (mussoorie) of the season she said ki she is greedy for old people ka ashirwaad as there are no oldies in her fam

So she always tries to convince them for aashirwad

And the toffee is aashirwad, that's why she wanted it.

I think Armaan relates to her loneliness with his own.

The way he felt lonely despite having all the relations in a family, before Abhira stepped into his life.

Probably that’s why he is giving her benefit of doubt.

Whether it’s right or wrong is another story altogether.
