I guess it's not the toffee but the validation and sabashi behind the toffee that lures them.

For them it's a hard earned reward for their hard work and for Dadisa it's a way to control them. The image that flashes my mind is not a pleasant one, but it's apt. It's like a treat for a dog (sorry). I know Abhira getting excited over a mere toffee when she herself gives them away as a way to encourage and show love is not sitting well with us. But from her perspective, she has no one except this family especially Armaan and as a human being it's our basic instinct to long for validation. This toffee will give her that within the family.
