Loved how you depicted the simplicity of the child and the happiness it brings!
Can you take me back to the childhood days dear,
Even if in a dream?
Can you take me back to the days
When the words just-unjust, respect-disrespect, burden-responsibility
Did not exist?
There is a field beside a pond,
There is no house in the vicinity.
Standing in that field
You will show the night sky.
The Great bear, the Pole star, the Orion, the Sirius---
You will make me acquainted with all of them.
In the afternoon we will
Run towards the thorny bushes
Because it is forbidden to go there.
The joy of naughtiness and
The pain of thorns will mix together.
Standing beside the road we will see
How sugarcane juice is produced.
We don't have money,
Observing is enough for peace.
Why have the train of imagination
Stopped suddenly dear?
To the children the world of adults is hazy
Because it is unknown to them.
Adults have become adults
After traversing the world of children.
Then why do those deep feelings
Become strangers?
The longing for simpler times is so well put forth!
Longing for childhood innocence is well expressed.
Nice poem, Nibedita.
Life goes on,
I want to cry.
Self pity is not a good thing,
But I want to cry.
There is no problem in my life,
Still I want to cry.
I want to cry hugging you
Remembering the dark night
That seemed to have no end.
Help me cry,
I can't do it myself.
Cut open my heart, the seat of emotions;
Bring out the pain hidden there,
Let it bleed.
All the pus and dirt stuck within
Will come out
And then, relief!
Life has become still
Like the water of a pond,
I can't tolerate it;
I want to feel
The waves of the ocean.
Let an ocean dance on my heart,
Make me cry.

Actually I have never written a story. So when I wrote it I was nervous. Still I made an experiment.
But then I felt perhaps the story is rubbish...too childish. I felt embarassed. Also I had kept the story open-ended because I could not decide how to end it. I don't know whether it is right to end a story in that way. So I deleted it out of embarassment.
Most likely, I have not kept any note of the story. So I have to write it from memory. It will take time and there will definitely be some change of words.
Still I will try to write it again.
Fairy tale
*************
Once upon a time, there lived a girl. She heard about a magical fruit from her friends. That fruit was very tasty. She asked her elders about the magical fruit. They said, "Women should not be greedy. Don't long for the magical fruit. Don't eat it even if you get it." She promised her elders that she will never eat the magical fruit but her curiosity remained.
After some years, she met a boy. They fell in love. The boy too had heard about the magical fruit. Nobody had forbidden him to eat it but he did not know where to find it. He intensely longed for the magical fruit.
The girl told him, " Let us explore the world. We can certainly find the magical fruit. I will try my best to help you have the magical fruit." They left home in search of the magical fruit.
After a long and difficult journey they met a couple. The couple owned the tree of the magical fruit.
Informing the couple that her companion desires to eat the magical fruit, she requested them for a fruit. They said, "We will give you the magical fruit, dear. It is very tasty and has many benefits. You can enjoy it but he can not. He does not have the strength needed to digest the magical fruit. If he eats it, he will die."
His face became pale with fear and disappointment. Tears began rolling down from her eyes. The couple said to her, "Don't cry, dear. There is a way out. You have to eat half of the fruit and then give that half-eaten fruit to him. If he eats that he will not die. He will enjoy the fruit and will get all the benefits from it."
Will the girl break the promise that she made to her elders?

Thank you so much Sutapa for encouraging me to write the story again and also for giving me a copy of the story.
