Part 25

G- Who is it?

Lady A- It's the handsome g... boss. Boss is here!!!

Maan glances at the face of lady A in without a word and rushes to the bedroom

G- What are you doing here??!!

Geet is shocked seeing Maan in front of her

M- That is not important.

He walks in gently & sits near her legs making sure to avoid disturbing them.

He startes at her red swollen ankle and moves his finger to touch it.

But then stops a few centimeters away.

M- Does it hurt?

G- No…not much... I took a painkiller.

Maan sits still, his hand hovering over the swollen skin but not touching.

Geet covers the injured site with a cold compress blocking Maan's view, as well as his fingers.

G-By chance... is it possible that... are you... worried... about... me?

M-What? Worried? I am angry, ok?

Geet nods in understanding. Although why he is angry didn't make any sense, but the thought of him being worried about her was simply absurd.

They weren't in that sort of relationship.

M- I told you to stay at the hospital and rest but you didn't listen. Moreover, you didn't even go to the hospital as soon as you got injured but instead insisted on finishing work!! I can only be angry at this point.

G- I have responsibilities towards my work. And I know my body. I knew I wasn't badly hurt. That’s why I- forget it. I don't want to explain you.

M – That’s because you cannot explain stupidity.

Geet rolls her eyes and looks away, finally regretting getting hurt. Now she can't even run away!

Maan lets out a huff and very gently touches the cold compress.

M- it really doesn't hurt that much?

Geet removes the compress and looks at her own ankle. There was little swelling, but it didn't look badly injured at all.

G- Really doesn't hurt much.

Maan sees that Geet’s fingers have also turned a bit icy red from holding the cold compress for so long.

He takes away the compress from her.

M- Let me do this.

Very lightly. Putting almost no pressure on her skin. He gently pats the cold compress over her ankle. Not letting it touch her skin for more than 10 secs.

After every few pats he would confirm if - it's fine? Is the pressure okay? If it hurts still

Geet reassures him every time that it is fine.

Having someone serving at her feet. She relaxes against the headboard and closes her eyes.

Although Maan brought all sort of cunning and crazy to the atmosphere; he also brought a sense of responsibility that once anything comes into his hands all will be fine.

Once things turn a bit quiet. A hungry ruble sound from the Geet's stomach was extra loud in the room.

Maan continuedshis task without a pause.

M- Where is your assistant? Tell her to bring dinner in here.

While the two had been arguing initially lady A had waved at Geet from the bedroom gesturing that she was going out.

G- She just left-

M- What? Left? How irresponsible! Just cos I am here doesn't mean she can dump everything on me, pat her ass and leave!

The remaining words – ‘left to get my dinner’ -- died in Geet’s mouth.

This man didn't even listen before starting to complain. What was his problem? Geet thinks.

Then she remembers her assistant telling her that she had rejected the Maan's call and blocked his number earlier today.

G- There is no food delivery right now...she will bring take-out from nearby street food stalls.

M- How can you eat outside food?! That too street food when you are injured? Isn't it common sense to eat healthy and clean food and recover faster.

G - I want to eat good food too but I can't cook right now.

M - Tell your assistant to cook.

G- She can't cook.

M - What? Can she do anything right? Why did you hire her?

G- She doesn't gossip and works diligently. Also, I didn't hire her. You did.

M - Me?

G- That’s what your assistant told me.

Maan shuts up. Indeed, it was his idea to hire someone.

M - Anyways those dirty things can't be eaten. Tell her not to bring that back.

G- What dirty? Food is food. Besides what do we eat then?

M - It's decided no street food. Since there is no other option then I’ll cook.

G - You can cook?

M - How hard can it be?

G - Very hard.

M - Then come up with a simple dish to eat.

G - Listen to me; it's just a meal, no need to be so picky. Accidentally you can get hurt or burned. Let's not complicate things.

Maan takes out his phone and opens the chat interface with the doctor. it had bunch of information on precautions during recovery, medicines, and food for faster recovery.

He hands over his phone to Geet to read.

M - I can boil and peel eggs and make salad. Anything more complicated, you decide what to make.

Geet looks over the info and considering Maan's stubbornness and her hunger and first-time cooking chef, comes up with an optimal solution.

G- Even if you are willing to cook. We haven't bought any ingredients, and I am hungry, and I don't want to go shopping right now.

M -The pantry, fridge and utensils are all stocked.

Geet gives up. Looks like she will have to suffer through broken leg and stomach at the same time.

She quickly runs through what could be cooked easily and decides Scrambled eggs with some pre-smoked salmon was good option.

She tells the recipe to Maan.

He gets up and goes out to start cooking.

He takes off his suit jacket, tie, cuff links. Undoes the collar button and rolls up his sleeves.

Opening the fridge, he sees three types of eggs. Unsure what to use he brings them into the room for Geet to see and tell.

Once the eggs are decided he takes out the fishes and brings them to Geet again to see and tell which one to be used.

Next, he thinks of the ingredients and the spices and then he sees the plethora of different skillets and pans and spoons and knife.

This uphill task looked steeper.

He goes into the bedroom and asks Geet.

M- Why don't you come out and sit near the kitchen. I may have doubts from time to time.

G - Alright... yeah, that would be better.

She starts to get up and hop out but gets interrupted by him.

M - Shall I help you sit outside?

G – Yeah. Thanks.

She thought that Maan was gonna help her lean on him and hop out.

Instead, he suddenly picks her up bridal style and walks out.

Geet lets out a surprised yelp at this sudden turn of events.

Maan looks at her.

M - What is it? Did I jostle your leg?

G – No…nothing. Just..surprised.

He carries her out and carefully places her on a comfortable single sofa.

He helps her keep her foot elevated by setting up a short table and cushion.

As the kitchen had an open floor plan, Geet can easily see what he was doing and answer his questions.

As Maan picks up the egg, the Geet interrupts him.

G- You should wear an apron you know and also wash your hands and the eggs.

He nods and obeys quietly.

This wasn't his territory so it was better to listen to the expert.

Amazing update Neelu ☺️

Just loved it 🤗

I was really enjoying state of frustrated Maan who wanted to show that he really doesn't care & is angry because of her carelessness but failed miserably when he saw her wounded

I loved how Maan like a stubborn kid was ordering Geet & finally the cooking session was really cute & I was smiling 😊 reading that

Geet was bit surprised by the authority that Maan showed carrying her to the kitchen near couch but that was really beautiful ❤️

Waiting for more

24 and 25 : lovely updates so much progress in his feelings.. he is close to realizing he has fallen badly for her! Otherwise who would worry so much about another person without any love? He was literally shivering & anxious on knowing she had fallen… her secretary has irritated him, why would she block him, cut his calls?! So stupid. Slowly we’re seeing him becoming this nagging bf/ husband who is doing khit phit in everything… he even cancelled her food and ready to cook food for her! Man what a change from the person we saw initially.. almost like he has a dual personality. This update ws completely about him doing things for her.. geet is also not understanding why he’s worrying about her, he covered it with him getting angry and not worry, but doesn’t he know his own feelings?! Waiting to see if he realizes it

Part 25

Fascinating update… profoundly written

of cos Maan went to see Geet

Geet was indeed astounded

as expected Maan was concerned about Geet

Geet's question was reasonable

alas Maan denied

he was clearly angry as Geet was ignoring her injury and health

Geet's thoughts were reasonable

cannot blame her

after all their marriage is merely a contract

Maan's outburst was anticipated

Geet's response was justified

liked Maan taking care of Geet

Gosh Maan taunted Geet's assistant

not surprised that Maan does not want Geet to have street food

well he insulted Geet's assistant

he certainly forgot that he hired her

great that Geet reminded him of this

Gosh Maan is going to cook for Geet

this is surely the first

love can make one do anything

at least Geet chose something simple

however for someone who has not cooked before its not easy

so Maan had to ask the expert Geet on every item

good idea that he told Geet to come to the kitchen

loved that he carried Geet bridal style

her reaction was understandable

pleased that she guided Maan on how to prepare the meal

nice that MSK is listening to someone

update soon

Part 26

He carries her out and carefully places her on a comfortable single sofa.

He helps her keep her foot elevated by setting up a short table and cushion.

As the kitchen had an open floor plan, Geet can easily see what he was doing and answer his questions.

As Maan picks up the egg, the Geet interrupts him.

G- You should wear an apron you know and also wash your hands and the eggs.

He nods and obeys quietly.

This wasn't his territory, so it was better to listen to the expert.

It takes some extra effort from scooping out eggshell to remaking burned scrambled egg. But finally satisfactory dinner was made.

Maan pulls up a chair to sit next to Geet and both eat the food in silence.

Once finished, Geet thanks Maan for the meal.

He nods and starts cleaning up the kitchen and the dirty utensils.

Geet lounges back and quietly observes him.

Once done, Maan asks her if she wants to go back to the bedroom.

G- I am feeling cooped up from sitting in the bedroom. Can I watch some TV?

Maan agrees and again picks her up.

Putting her in front of the TV this time.

Making sure not to bump her anywhere.

He again helps place her leg in an elevated position and changes the cold compress.

While she surfs through channels randomly, trying to find something interesting to watch.

He takes out some fresh berries and washes them and brings them out for her to snack on while watching TV.

She accepts the fruit Bowl thanking him as he sits down next to her.

G - Thanks. Do you want to watch anything?

M - No. You can choose whatever.

Geet picks some old movie and starts watching.

As she eats the fruits, a tear trickles down her cheek.

Her heart felt a complicated mix of emotions.

She felt so overwhelmed by the sudden care.

She couldn't remember last time someone had taken care of her so diligently.

She tries to discreetly wioe away her tears and hide her sniffles, but it was still noticed by Maan, who grows alarmed.

M- Wh- what happened??!  Hey!! Why are you crying all of a sudden?!

Geet shakes her head and hides her face behind her hands.

She couldn't explain what she didn't understand.

M - Is your leg hurting? Does it pain a lot?

She shook her head…then nods…but shakes her head again.

No matter how much Maan denied but he was concerned about her injury, and she didn't want to lie about it.

She quickly wipes away her tears and says with a nasal voice.

G- it's nothing… just... the movie... it's sad.

M - Oh. Then let's watch something better. Some comedy

She shakes her head.

G - It's a good movie. I will watch this only.

He sighs.

Why was she enjoying movies that make people miserable?

M- Fine. Fine.

He pats her head. Trying to sooth her emotions... but it only made her tears fall a bit faster.

Unsure of what he can do to fix the situation. He just keeps patting her head.

At least this won't make things worse. He thought.

At some later point, Geet turns and buries her head against his shoulder and a wet patch grows on his shirt.

He keeps stroking her hair and patting her back, slowly managing to calm her down.

While leaning against Maan, Geet ends up falling asleep from all the mental physical and emotional exhaustion.

The movie was long forgotten by both of them.

One person fell asleep, and the other person helped her sleep comfortably.

When he thought she was sleeping deeply he picks her up again and brings her to the bedroom.

Carefully laying her down and pulling the covers over her.

He gently stroks her head few times to make her sleep deeply again and then leaves the room.

Softly closing the door behind him.

He rolls down his sleeves and picks up the discarded coat, putting it on and walks to the apartment door.

He opens the door, steps outside, but couldn't bring himself to close the door behind him.

He couldn't come up with any rational explanation for his inability to leave.

So, he comes up with a plausible excuse- Geet should not be left alone when she is injured. Since the assistant is not here. He should stay.

He walks back in, discards his jacket, and settled for the night on the sofa in front of the TV.

+++++++

Lady A had received a text from Geet, telling her not to bring back any food. Also telling her to return back late.

Although lady A had been a bit slow initially. She now fully comprehended the situation. The Madam and Boss were married. Both were busy and self-content people. Hence, they didn't seem out each other all the time and kept their communications private and most probably due to the nature of the Madam's job they have kept the marriage secret.

Meeting each other after so many months. Of course, they didn't want her coming back.

She didn't want to go back and be a light bulb in their two-person World.

As for why she was so sure that this was an underrated, non-discrepant, outside cold but privately sweet couple? It was simple, no matter time or location or how tired the Madam is. She always has Boss in her thoughts. Often cooking and buying things for him and sending it across. And Boss too. Look at him, one small sprain and he drove here like a mad man all worried.

Handsome guy and captivating beauty. such a good-looking couple.

She absolutely cannot go back tonight and disturb them.

+++++++

Geet didn’t want anyone else to see Maan struggling in the kitchen; and she knew he would struggle.

She realizes that Maan, usually adept at many things in life doesn't show any weakness or failure in any big or small matter was willing to let her see him struggle and fail... but she couldn't let outsiders see this.

++++++++

The next day, Lady A goes back early morning.

Quietly unlocking the door.

As she goes in, she sees the handsome Man sleeping on the sofa.

She stops at her feet and runs out again.

Silently closing main gate behind her and calling the Boss's assistant.

Lady A- Hi Good Morning!

A- Yes hello. How is everything over there?

Lady A- emmm-okay!! Everything is fine. When is boss going to go back?

A-I am not sure. He has taken semi leave for today already.

Lady A- Is that so... hmm I better not disturb them today either then.

A- Yes. That would be good. Boss has been missing Madam for quite a while. We shouldn't disturb them unless absolutely necessary.

Both the assistants agree on the actions, and both didn't realize they were perhaps the biggest believers of the couple's good relationship.

Lady A drops a message to Geet saying that she is going to visit some tourist attractions all day today. If she needs her to come back to apartment, just give her a call.

Geet also woke up about that time and saw the message.

She felt awkward.

She didn't want to spend the whole day alone with Maan.

Specially, after her crazy outburst yesterday.

But if she calls lady A back then she would most probably get fired before end of the day and Geet didn't want that either.

Ultimately, she chooses not to call her back.

Someone's employment was more important than her feeling uncomfortable for a day.
