I think I know why he can't confide in Abhira about Ruhi.

1. He himself feels it's disgusting. Remember post marriage when Ruhi used to come near him, he used to call her off and tell her she is his bro's wife and she should stay in her limits? So if he tells Abhira that the girl he cares about so much is his bhabhi as well as ex, she will lose all respect for him.

2. He thinks she is temporary in his life. She will leave after one year. So let her finish her studies and then she can leave. No need to involve her into this mess.

3. Right now, he feels there is nothing left between him and Ruhi. He doesn't want to bring it up as he feels Ruhi also forgot about him just like he did. He is clueless about the whole Ruhi's side of the story. He thinks they are just friends and Abhira is overthinking and Ruhi just says everything in depression.

4. Deep down he is scared what Abhira might think and how she will react to all this. He has started liking her subconsciously. He doesn't want to lose her. That's why in that hand holding scene he says "tum nahi samjhogi". If it was a random girl, he would have told her. But the chit wali girl being Ruhi makes it complex. He doesn't want anyone to know about it.

Ok one positive in today’s episode was Armaan himself went to Abhira and told the truth that he has come for Ruhi. My expectations are very very low from ITV ML's. They may be CEO of a company or a highly successful businessman but will act more foolishly than a 12 year old.

Oh yeah. That too he said it very casually - he didn't hesitate there. It was good to watch that.

I know that Armaan doesn't love Roohi, nor he is giving any signal or hope , it's just that he is too weak and fragile and doesn't have guts to see and stand of what is right and wrong. I find him a person with very low emotional intelligence.
