Dont know if you toned down around Babita - if you haven't, and these are your og thoughts, its fine. If you have, write the worst version and tone it down from there. See what comes out and choose the better one. [hope that makes sense].

I have, however, noticed in the past that when it comes to villainous characters, negative comments are taken as a compliment that it is written and acted well. I do think its not - at least not written well.]

Have some thoughts about Bhavani that you triggered. but need more refinement and time. Will discuss later.

To me, you have touched all relevant points , defining characters and what we expect of KMTMG, mostly that we wish the story to be different from the normal itv ones and stress on women empowerment which I feel is right time the producers think of instead of showing women weak and suffering, especially when the contemporary social scenario is more of women striving forward in life, entering all fields of employment and being financially independent. And, having Sriti as FL, Muktha maam can do it with confidence.

Yes. They dont drag something unnecessarily. But guess it depends on what they consider to be the main focus in the current phase. They did drag exposing Rajiv. If they have it that Ishika thing is the main focus now, they may drag this too. Hope its not - do feel that Aaji has a lot to offer before she leaves, especially in relation to Bhavani. Will be kind of odd if she leaves in the end after the exposé, leaving them in shambles. Hmm... Post Nimrit wedding, the track started with Bhavani leaving... gives hope that's the focus.

So new entry Aaji a 70+ years traditional old lady coming from village is only character in KMTMG so far, who seems practical, progressive, thoughtful, sharp, with forward looking mindset and reiterates they are in 2024 times, not in some regressive old times.

How about focusing on making other aspects of KMTMG also convincingly appear as if in 2024??

Ideally in first episode introduction should have been, 'yeh kahani ki shuruwat hoti hai 2003 mein Mumbai ki Amruta Chitnis ki zindagi se' to make it more appropriate & convincing.. & every week keep repeating thru characters to viewers, that they are living in 2003.. what say??

Well... Virat does end up going to Ammu's house to help but only after Shekhar prompts him to. I would put that as 'disappointing' from the character. Later on, though it was understandable, he did not have the guts to admit to Ammu that his mom provoked her. Guess we should be happy that he at least acknowledged in thought that his mom was wrong... but its not good enough. Not expecting him to confess his mom is involved but didnt need Shekhar to prompt. A big down from my side for him to continue as the ML - along the lines i mentioned yesterday.

Shekhar initially saves the situation and then Ammu-Ishika confrontation follows. This was good but could've been better - as in Ammu could've been even more fierce. If we go by the last phase where it was Rajiv v/s Ammu, will this one be Ishika v/s Ammu? She can warn her dad... even if he will think his love, his ever understanding sweetheart, his angel of purest heart, wont even dream of doing such a thing... its something that needs to be said to him. Fingers crossed she does - 'Mr.Chitnis, you need to be aware of what your gf is trying to do'.

Nimrit-Rajiv scene - good they didnt forget about it. That felt in its place. Tara shown on a phone call with rajiv - overhearing his convo with Nimrit. [So happy for Nimrit and in effect Babita. They indeed have chosen the best person she could marry.]

Virat scene... frustrated while working out. ye kab hua, kyu hua? suddenly out of the blue he is upset. unless he has mood swings - which hasn't been shown so yet, it felt out of place. Would've been appropriate if it was shown after they brought back Bhavani... or in the fb's shown they had something about what triggered his swing right now - say Ishika's attempt or hearing mom saying it. without this, it felt out of the blue.

Virat-Amruta scene was nice though. Good convo that touched quite a few points.

Amruta lies to aji about what took her so long but may have given some false info to her to fight. In a way fine - the Ahujas kind of do the same deliberately.

Aaji is indeed a very refreshing character, thought at first, she might be ott. She is perfect for ammu and Bhavani. Harsh and Jaan aunty are also good partners for them. Hope, there are many plots involving them mainly, some interesting fun and serious plots with good social outcome and messages.

I repeat A-wing can give more believable content & characters with better emotional connect to establish good viewership now, with some reasonable plots for few months with some progression.. much much more than B-wing.

These repeated forced trip, fall, catch, hold, eyelock, hug scenes, plus pinning to wall scenes have to be toned down a lot, let audience first feel deeply for lead characters (mainly for Virat), let them see their individual characters growth plus friendship kick off organically.

The less fans talk about leads marriage be it on SM or online forums which KMTMG team can possibly read, feel the better will be for this shows prospects.

PS.

Generally marriage tracks of main/parallel leads in serials are expected to create buzz in SM, hype in media, interest in public, thus help increase serials viewership & also possibly raise BARC TRP numbers.

But if we observe last 1 year, wedding tracks of leads in Z serials be it in RM, SS, Rabb, KKB, Kundali got average to below average viewership attention, (as anticipation factors, plot twists, wedding drama weren't as positively engaging as PH & channel might have hoped for).

KMTMG promos/teasers/IVs talked MORE about opposite viewpoints of ML & FL on relationship & marriage, plus an impossible love story with varying family & cultures of main pair.

Let us keep in mind this fact, KMTMG before launch or during launch was NEVER promoted as married life story of Amruta nor as arranged/force/revenge marriage story of pair.

Early marriage won't work in KMTMG without properly establishing key characters & families with viewers along with some engaging plots..that too with unbearable ott Ahuja's. also early marriage can probably doom this show, as writers/cvs can turn into saas-bahu drama.

For KKB right from begining PH, channel, cast & crew were very clear right in 2014, also promoted in media as arranged marriage story brought in by destiny of two main leads Abhi & Pragya with contrast backdrop, outlook & lifestyleshow their love happens post marriage amongst difficult situations.

(though Ek also termed Arora sisters loosely based on sense & sensibility..)

So KKB audiences were waiting to watch married life of Pragya with RS Abhi start & KKB kicked off high from wedding track (also as audience know well that Pragya won't have love marriage with Suresh, from the begining).

Not expecting Virat-Amruta wedding to happen any time before 100 eps now. While Amruta may be considered appropriate to go into that phase, feels like Virat has a mountain to climb before their wedding can be considered. Unless there is some weird twist, like discussed earlier with some forced thing happening, not likely they will get married soon.

Since they have been talking about this being an 'impossible' love story in its promotions, can expect things to take longer than even what we expect. With the word 'impossible', dont know if they mean it will never happen too. Wedding with mutual consent doesn't seem likely, let alone with the consent of both the families.

Precap has the reason for the slap. If anyone cant see it, During aarti, Rajiv slips Nimrit's dupatta in a burning lamp. Ammu enters home and sees her dupatta buring, pours water on it. which Babita sees (of course).. and does the expected.

btw.. noticed Virat switched to referring to Amruta as 'aap' since yesterdays ep - dont think it was sarcasm too.

KMTMG is already close to 60, so 100 episodes is just Feb end & we are aware of some upcoming festive/functions/bday plots till Aaji is around. Aaji will do what Babita didn't, she will reject Gautam's alliance for Amruta before leaving & brainwashing Bhavani to think about herself more from now.

So even 100 for wedding track is way too early for this serial, that too stage at which most KMTMG characters are..
