My take on Veer:

What they are showing is realistic actually. We want to see a filmy story where the guy remains a nice guy throughout or the girl foe the matter but in this case:

1. Veer never got any recognition from girls earlier.

2. He was always overshadowed by his elder brothers and was a geek

3. Everyone overlooked him earlier- especially girls

4. Now he is suddenly famous - more than his mqcho cool brothers and is getting a lot of attention

It's natural to want to explore and foe the success to goto your head....he has a girl like Sasha (who would not look at him twice earlier) vying for his attention and he tried drugs...which is addictive...

So I think it's a nice portrayal and like the twist, rather than seeing a lovey dovey artificial relationship....which had no element of entertainment or excitement.

Ideally, this works well for a carefully thought out story, but I doubt TMD makers are applying such logic and reasoning here. To me, it feels like they change characters according to their convenience so that it supports their story line they come up with - the show doesn't really have a seamless flow, at least to me - it feels vaguely disjointed and hastily put together.

There are people who could be in the same shoes as Veer and yet stay grounded and true to their morals and principles, and Veer seemed like someone who would stay rooted to his true self. Here it seems like they're destroying Veer's character simply to push their narrative for Garry's new arc.
