there is an important story in valmiki ramayan regarding king sudhanwa and other neighbour kings attacking on mithila for getting sita, siradhvaj did penance for a year and got special weapons from gods, he defeated all of them and also killed sudhanwa, former king of sankashya, made kushadhvaj its king with rajabraj as its capital
