And last episode when zaid was all “omg after mom died dad was so alone blah blah” , I was like umm “ARE YOU SURE HE WASNT THE ONE TO KILL HER?!” 😂😂

I also have a cute theory that Zaid, with his somewhat intact moral compass, takes after his mom. And Asif always considers that his biggest weakness. Jaisi Maa, waisa Beta. Maybe that’s why he’s so hard on him, because he wants Zaid to change and throw all ethics and morals out of the window 😂

Not sure if u guys noticed this in the first episode, there’s a photo frame of 3 middle-aged women in their family plus bar room. So I have a theory that Z n Kashmala are step siblings lol

Fucshia Reviews not coming slow 😂😂😂

They didn’t even care to mention the “big reveal” because so much nonsense took center stage

But at least they get how the story has compromised the characters of Ayra and Asif this week 👍

See, this is another thing I have issue with - can anyone pinpoint exactly WHEN this 180 degree turning point came for MJ? When she suddenly *caught feelings?*

Badar didn’t even give us a proper turning point for MJ. Before the second marriage she was scrambling and desperate to hold on to Zaid because of the divorce stigma. Then afterwards she was plotting to break Ayra and Zaid up. When exactly did her feelings for Zaid change? We didn’t even get to see it and instead we have that public revelation of her at Ayra’s reception that oh I love my husband! I’m sorry, WHAT? It wasn’t even sincere at the point because it’s obvious she still wants to win and love has nothing to do with it.

But then Badar also shows her giddiness whenever Zaid spends time with her. Which again is easy to interpret as her loving her little wins. Now I feel she does enjoy her time with him and whenever he validates her as his biwi, but I feel there should have been a clear turning point. Part of me also feels that Zaid’s love for Ayra is why MJ is having feelings for him - because she loves that loyalty aspect (which ironically she’s also trying to break - with him and Ayra).

Regardless, I think once again it’s a case of us being robbed of particular turning points and instead we are just supposed to believe that MJ is suddenly growing soft towards a guy who was just horrible to her and wanted to get rid of her 😒😒 Badar should have given us more to explain MJ’s thought process regarding Zaid and how it’s evolved. What he showed are just tiny crumbs instead of real game changing moments.

@Bold - This question actually bothered me a lot too. When did her 'feelings' took 180 degrees turn. There was definitely no 'turning point' shown. It confuses you to no end, because you can keep questioning everything MJ does - Was she faking it? or was she genuinely putting her effort? What I have realised is Mubashira's thoughts do not follow a straight line - her reactions are always at extremes. Some where in early episodes (in one of her monologues, I think), she says that loyalty in her partner is what matters to her, not love. And she was actually ready to divorce Zaid many times and it was her dad who kept pushing her reminding the social stigma of a second divorce and forced her to compromise. After one of those reminders she genuinely went to Zaid and extended the olive branch - alas, the man was too gone. But Mubashira's effort, though was genuine, was not coming from her , rather it was a result of her father's emotional manipulation.

As per my opinion, there were two major instances where Mubashira went against her 'mein' directly to accommodate Zaid in her life - first, when she decided to come back to Zaid's home on her own and apologise Kash for misbehaving with her and second, when she went to Asif and asked him to go to Aira's house with the proposal - in both times she was at an emotionally very vulnerable state. The first one is seemingly unimportant, but I like to perceive it as an important turning point of her thought process. What triggered her to go to her father and to tell him that she want to be with Zaid and that too she wanted to go back in the night it self 9this was after their disastrous honeymoon, if I am not wrong)? She saw Mohib with his wife happily selecting clothes (clothes for a toddler?), then we see her thinking on her way back - now we did not get a monologue there. But I like to think what she saw made her sad and angry in equal, she was still becoming a source of gossip (she remembers what her father and brother were saying about her insanity, if I recall correctly), here her ex is happily in love with his wife. Some where deep down she wanted that too and Zaid was her one chance at that. She was totally vulnerable when she went to her father to make that request - almost a helpless child. I'd like to think that reaction came from a much deeper place than the 'I cannot be a second-time divorcee and what would people say' kind of a place. However, in her head, she neither values the concept of 'love', nor she wants it - so she brings it forward as her attempt to save her marriage. Same thing is true with her agreeing to Zaid and Aira's marriage and all her compliances in other situations as well. What I think is she is still plotting to save her marriage, but with each of her attempt she is gravitating towards him. Though she said she loves him, I don't think she has fully understood her feelings yet, let alone of the awareness of being in love. I agree with you that Zaid's unwavering loyalty and trust towards Aira have a huge role too - during that thod pod imitation scene when he said with so much confidence that 'it was a lie' she mentally stepped back, as she could not believe that kind of devotion! So what I feel is, we time to time doubt her feelings, only because she herself has not fully understood or acknowledged it yet - she has started to realise, but for a person who only has loved herself for a life time and has not believed in love, it may take a while. I believe a real game change moment, if they give us any, would be when she does something completely out of her character - a completely selfless act for him, then both you and me would be fully convinced - then both Zaid and Mubashira will realise her 'love' too. Just my thoughts.

Zaid was In Love with MJ and He loves Aira . A big big difference. Being In Love with someone and Loving someone has huge difference. But the monologue at start makes me wonder if show was never about Love but about Self Love. Maybe that’s why we don’t see or get the intense romance vibes from either of pair , as it was never meant to be .

I rewatched the first scene of Zaid on yatch , the monologue Ego Vs Self Respect if definitely must be there for reason. It talks abt how one can get lost in Mein and give up all relationships and destroy or how one can win too !

Yes about the in love/loves. He never seemed in love with Ayra and there has be a reason why he said respect and understanding is more important than love. Even his dad accused him not being the kind that falls in love. Maybe he locked away these type of feelings after being rejected by MJ. He looked for someone the complete opposite of her and didn’t get his heart too involved. In his quest to find someone completely different, he ignored the fact that Ayra had selfish tendencies. Anyway, I agree that he still loved her but wasn’t in love with her. The problem with being in love is that it’s difficult to get over someone.

I think he worked really hard to get over MJ. As soon as she got divorced and became available, his attitude changed with her - he was a bit rude. It’s like he needed to do that to not fall for her again. The closer she got to him, the ruder he became. After the wedding he was taking all his frustrations out on her. It wasn’t just displaced frustration, he was angry with her and holding a grudge for the hurt she caused him. He clearly still has feelings for her or wouldn’t have said that he is scared to express himself to her. He still not a 100% sure about her feelings - is everything she’s doing just for the sake of her reputation. He’s softening but still guarded.

I noticed that too. Who are they? I thought they forgot to take down a picture for the scene.

I’m just hoping that big moment comes and it’s not all wrapped up quickly with rushed moments etc - as Pakistani dramas tend to do.

Badar doesn’t inspire much confidence from how he dealt with MPHT’s finale. The ending for the bad guys was ridiculous and laughable. And Hania Wahaj barely got any meaningful scenes and what we did get was super awkward and cringe

Very true. After MPHT (I didn't watch it as per say, but since I started it while it was on air, I skipped through the episodes and yes, let's not talk about the rushed ending!), I was pretty confident that I'd never give Badar a chance! But I did the mistake of listening to the OST during the Christmas vacation and Kunal Verma's lyrics just held me!!!!

Hahaha I don’t blame you. The ost song and Asim Azhar’s voice is literally the best thing about Mein so far 😂👍 I don’t even like MJ in the show but every time I listen to the song I’m like poor baby, let me hold you 😭

The love / in love thing is so interesting and would have benefited so much if this backstory had been incorporated earlier. Zaid would have been such a rich character and his conflicting emotions would have been so fun to see. Now, I’m not too sure how much justice can be done.

the “in love” thing I’m not buying yet. Not until Zaid provides his own perspective. All we can do is speculate 🤷‍♀️

lol there’s also the important question of HOW someone like him can even love OG MJ from so long ago - just the thought is nightmarish to say the least 😂
This current version is actually cute at least, OG Mubashira was horrible

Asif should not be given a free pass at any cost. Am talking only from the parenting perspective here. He royally f****d over his kids, so an apology followed by a teary hug will just not cut it! I know in Mein, everyone's got issues and morality takes a back seat in such narratives and I am not expecting a cathartic resolution either BUT I'd like to see Asif face consequences for how he handled Zaid.

Yes he screwed over both his kids. He knew Rayyan was a good for nothing yet he gave Kashmala his full blessings. Maybe Ayra wouldn’t have been the one for Zaid but that was for him to figure out - he’s a grown man. Now he’s stuck in a marriage of 3 which isn’t good for anyone. Some advice or even insistence I can understand but to go behind his back, threaten Ayra’s brother and make it seem like he rejected Zaid was so deceitful. Forget about that hurting Ayra, it was most hurtful towards his own son. Also I think he intentionally told Ayra’s brother to use the excuse that Zaid is nothing more than a spoiled rich kid living off of his daddy’s money. He constantly wants Zaid to be reminded that he is nothing without him. He called Zaid stubborn but I don’t think he is. It’s more about responsibility and commitment for him. Asif knows that Zaid responds to guilt and used this for as long as he could to manipulate him.

He has never done anything because Zaid wants it. He only agreed to Ayra because MJ facilitated it. How does Zaid feel that his father will do anything for MJ but not for him? He seems to clearly love his father and I feel he avoids laying the blame on him. It’s actually kind of endearing but is he not upset that his father values him so little. I liked the part when Asif said that MJ is the daughter-in-law and daughter of a business man, and MJ corrects him says that she’s also the wife of a business man. It was established earlier that Zaid was practically running the business but Asif devalues and dismisses him. MJ realizes his worth more than others.
