Even I wondered about Saba. I was like I would be so so conflicted. Saba would have nailed it as Ayra. Then Ayeza is too good with MJ already. Then I think, I would have empathised with Ayra. For me actor does play an important role in liking the character or rooting for them

Zaid was In Love with MJ and He loves Aira . A big big difference. Being In Love with someone and Loving someone has huge difference.But the monologue at start makes me wonder if show was never about Love but about Self Love. Maybe that’s why we don’t see or get the intense romance vibes from either of pair , as it was never meant to be .

I rewatched the first scene of Zaid on yatch , the monologue Ego Vs Self Respect if definitely must be there for reason. It talks abt how one can get lost in Mein and give up all relationships and destroy or how one can win too !

She is ignoring his calls because how dare he leave without taking her with him. She wants an upper hand in everything. She can't adjust in any situation at all. I am not saying it's wrong or right but it is how she is and that can't work. Did Zaid say he won't spend time or sleep with MJ before marrying Ayra? No. She started with I want to be in his room, she was pissed off and too insecure when Zaid talked to MJ. That's when Zaid assured her that it was marriage of convenience. She then asks what if you still are tempted to her way. He then says when that's the case, I will change my route. So he assured her but he didn't say he will treat MJ as if she is non-existant. That can't happen. She wants him to ignore MJ totally. That can't happen. So she is throwing tantrums now

One thing I noticed is that there is a difference between Asif and Jaffer. Jaffer has somewhat of a moral compass although it usually goes out the window when he tries to appease MJ. One scene that stands out to me is when he tells MJ that no person is “Do Takke ka”. Meanwhile we have Asif that calls Ayra that all the time. Jaffer adjusted and accommodated for MJ to marry Mohib who was well below her social status but Asif basically tortured Ayra’s family when Zaid wanted to marry her. Two very extreme versions of parenting. One’s an enabler and the other one is a controller. MJ and Zaid are a consequence of their father’s parenting style.

We can argue whether or not we think Asif has the best intentions for Zaid or whether or not he is provoked in doing these things, but one thing is for sure though is that Asif is shady and underhanded. Fakkhar even pointed this out. There’s no way he comes out of this story unpunished. What kind of justice would that be?

Asif should not be given a free pass at any cost. Am talking only from the parenting perspective here. He royally f****d over his kids, so an apology followed by a teary hug will just not cut it! I know in Mein, everyone's got issues and morality takes a back seat in such narratives and I am not expecting a cathartic resolution either BUT I'd like to see Asif face consequences for how he handled Zaid.

It’s just the fastest way to wrap this drama up and with the level of lazy writing - totally makes sense to me 😬 I don’t see them making Ayra a villain when we already have Asif. They’ll make her foolish like they are, digging her own grave but never evil. If she doesn’t die, Zaid will never ever ever leave her man. That’s like his main THING*

I’m pretty sure he also murdered his wife lol. Or at least his criminal behavior somehow killed her mentally 🤣 Where is Asif’s backstory ? If they ever do a spin off, his story is the one to watch 😆

You are right. This show is not about love hence the focus is not on romance. But I do feel this show is about Self love in LOVE or a relationship. If it makes sense. You have to let go of ego and choose love. But in some cases, self love is also choosing your loved one. Because it's good for yourself. For example, on one hand, Zaid loves Ayra. He also has guilt. He doesn't have to stay married to her bcz she was wronged. On the other hand, he is In love with Mubashira despite knowing how she is. He can't help it who he falls in love with. Love is what heart wants. Can't rationalise. It's not at all wrong if he choses Mubashira Ultimately bcz it's self love. You don't have to feel guilty for choosing her.

This can also be one of the purposes. I can be wrong though..

And last episode when zaid was all “omg after mom died dad was so alone blah blah” , I was like umm “ARE YOU SURE HE WASNT THE ONE TO KILL HER?!” 😂😂

I also have a cute theory that Zaid, with his somewhat intact moral compass, takes after his mom. And Asif always considers that his biggest weakness. Jaisi Maa, waisa Beta. Maybe that’s why he’s so hard on him, because he wants Zaid to change and throw all ethics and morals out of the window 😂
