I just came across this trailer, looked like it has similar theme, I was rolling my eyes like why the heck they make such movies which only increases the disharmony between the countries..

I have never been a fan of any war related movies as I don't like to watch physical fights ,blood bath or killings.

There's a lot of whataboutism going on, but that's just a sign of the victims falling for the effects of propaganda movies. Emotions are running high. Yes, Pakistan isn't any better; if their cinema matched India's strength, they'd probably be churning out as many propaganda movies, if not more. But how's that relevant here? Both sides doing the same thing doesn't make it right. This is India Forums, so obviously, the discussion centers around Bollywood movies. You can't deny there's been a surge in patriotic movies lately. Sure, there were films like Gadar/Dil Pardesi Hogaya before, but not to the extent where there's a new jingoistic movie every other week. It's never been like this. If you deny that it has nothing to do with the current government, you're fooling yourself.

Bollywood always jumps on the bandwagon. It’s not about patriotic movies. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag got hit, there were tons of sports movie lined up.

Patriotic movie works - next 10 movies all patriotic.
mindless masala works - bunch of that.
Action works - bunch of action.

what you call propaganda - is what you don’t like.

Same with many Indian boycott groups. They think showing tilakdhari villain is propaganda. Would you deny it? Coz you are ok with tilakdhari villain?

Annapoorani was propaganda for me. I felt it promotes conversion. It wasn’t for you.

Everyone here feels propaganda based on what they are uncomfortable with.

Haha I meant I won’t get into any Indo/Pak debate at all. All I’ll say is even if pakistan caused a certain attack. Going and making a jingoistic movie about it probably won’t help anything. But again the film makers don’t wanna help they want 💰 an ya can’t blame them there

Propaganda or no propaganda, no Indian ,regardless of their ideology, will call movies on URI and Pukawama attacks distorting the ‘facts’. Some of these keyboard warriors cannot even own up their real identity. No point engaging with such trolls.

I am just saying what the reactions are, many on social media saying they are tired of it being about pakistan again from a storytelling stand point, that obviously doesn't mean the movie won't make money, it will make alot of money because there are many that still love these kind of films, plus it's the only movie releasing on republic day.

It just shows how lazy the storytelling has become, that the same story is being made again and again just because they know it will make money, there are so many more stories they can tell with the indian army that can also be entertaining and gripping.

There is no denying that the storytelling has become pretty lazy with wafer thin storylines and a lot of jazz. But these movies are also becoming blockbusters. So why put in the extra effort ?

I very much doubt that there would have even been a partition when at that time the issue would have been Christian people...

Umm .. I have too much to say on this: considering its the Evangelic Brits who were responsible for this whole mess (and a bunch of other mess all over the world)

But this is going to totally detail this thread and I dont want to do this to the TM. I am going to let this go (with clamped fists)

Plus the importance of Pakistan’s location. The partition story is not black and white like the west likes to simplify pushing its role under the rug. The only fact is that the Indians( including the ones in Pakistan now) took the bait and paid for it with a lot of blood and still continuing to pay.

I guess, you meant Pulwama...(but as I'm not Indian I still googled - one never knows - but Google had no idea about Pukawama...it remained blank...totally blank...)
