Who are the top contenders to win the debut awards this year? I think only theatrical releases will be considered for these categories too.

Thankfully 99% of the Janta knows how these awards work. The rest can keep living with their eyes closed & enjoy the Lust Stories makers reunion like every year.

I mean Ranbir is performing. Ofcourse Animal is sweeping the awards & the wifey is winning best actress. Wtf are people even making predictions for. Like it has anything to do with merit.

The nominations are more or less what I predicted although I'm surprised Dunki was snubbed outside of SRK and Vicky. For female nominees, glad to see Kiara was acknowledged. Was hoping Shilpa and Katrina would be for Sukhee and Tiger 3.

Predicting SRK, Deepika or Rani, Vicky, and Jaya for acting awards.

Deepika for Pathaan? Like seriously? Why was Alia nominated for that mediocre performance? And Vikrant wasn’t even nominated in the popular category when literally every single moviegoer can’t stop singing his praises after watching 12th fail. Pankaj Tripathi same. Awards have regressed since the 90s and now they are nothing but a butt of jokes.

I thought she would get a nomination for Jawan. I wasn't a fan of her performance in Pathaan but it would have shocked me if she wasn't nominated because they would want both her stardom represented plus the success of the movie. I agree with you about You-Know-Aloo. Most colorless Dharma heroine yet.

Vikrant Massey's nomination was the one I was worried about but I had a feeling he'd be snubbed in the popular category. With only 6 slots at most, the problem was that all the slots were filled up. SRK was definitely getting double nominations, Vicky was going to get the nomination for Sam Bahadur (even if he will likely win the Critics Award), Ranveer and Ranbir were surefire nominations, and so was Sunny Deol for his comeback. There wasn't enough room to represent them all and still feature Vikrant.
