He’s directed the Zaid Ayra scenes MUCH more generously - although his filters suck over there as well. The makeup just comes out as orange and weird and sometimes you can see the screen is just blue /green

I’m not sure if it was even love for MJ - maybe a green boy crush in his earlier years since his and MJ’s family go way back. He’s been with Ayra during his university days and he mentions to Asif that they developed an understanding in university. So this has been a long term relationship which makes sense given how committed he is to Ayra.

I think he liked MJ in his late teen years maybe but she ignored him or rejected him - which led him to gravitate towards girls who are so unlike her. Makes sense. He really did fall in love with Ayra, I believe there’s a 100% commitment from Zaid’s side at least. Those ILYs are real.

If Zaid ever gets a proper scene we might find out more lol. But I’m keeping my expectations low because I feel it’s already frustrating that Badar kept this out of the narrative for this long. It’s such a stupid decision to do this. It would have enhanced the story so much if he had given us scenes of Zaid reminiscing about his history, some monologues, some confrontation with MJ regarding this. Literally… so much could be dug out from this. Instead Zaids monologues and flashbacks have been about Ayra and what she said and why she said what.

Badar is just not in the mood to care about the Zaid MJ arc. He didn’t even do this scene justice that he gave us lol. He just wants to focus on Azeekah, that’s it. Maybe once Ayra is toast, we might get some depth to the other pairing

Yes even today, Ayra and Asif had the camera linger on them for so long. I notice Asif gets the powerful music and I think his walk is a bit slowed down. Actually I think that works in making him appear more powerful which he is. It’s just that when Zaid and MJ are together, it feels like the camera guy barely focuses and is in a rush to move onto the next shot.

they’re badly edited too. Even the scenes of Ayra and Zaid where they’re clashing have better angles and direction. Remember the scene where he sits on the floor and holds her hand begging her not to ruin their saath? And she tells him her heart feels dead? That scene was powerful because of how Badar placed wahaj - he was kneeling. The camera angle. The focus was kept on the close up expressions. The vulnerability was palpable. You could FEEL Zaid’s heart breaking.

ITS NOT THAT BADAR CANT DO IT

Maybe there’s some biased agenda we don’t know about 🤷‍♀️ because he’s set on making the MJ Zaid scenes fall flat and lose impact - how much can wahaj and Ayeza’s acting salvage this? those scenes have to be dealt with fairly too

This is not to say that Zaid is not committed - he is 100% committed to Ayra and was never messing around. Which reminds me, did Asif tell Ayra that he had told Zaid that it’s okay to fool around with any girl but when it’s time to get married it has be someone from his status? That was a creepy thing to say. Anyway, clearly Zaid wasn’t like that with Ayra and does care for her but it isn’t actual love. I think he felt that for MJ and isn’t able to completely move on from his feelings even though he has tried his hardest. He was probably in denial to himself. He definitely went for Ayra because she seemed the exact opposite of MJ and it’s also why he changed his priorities from love to respect and understanding.

It’s your personal interpretation which is absolutely fine - they haven’t really given Zaid a lot of focus so I feel no two people are ever going to agree on him anyway. Until he himself does so in the show with actual “words” lol

Ayra is not the only one he’s told ILYs too. He’s told Asif he loves her too. His words were literally “We are in love and I want to marry her” - and his actions speak louder than his words anyway. He left everything for Ayra. His world, his family. Not once, but TWICE. On top of that he was ready to divorce MJ , the supposed “old flame”, not once but TWICE. In every way it’s been portrayed that he’s moved on happily and doesn’t think twice about getting rid of MJ.

So in my head it makes more sense if it was just a crush and he then later set up these walls in place around her to protect himself. Because if it was really such strong feelings in the past, the lengths he went to to torture MJ were too extreme imo. It would actually make him even MORE toxic than he was being in that moment for me. And that doesn’t sit well with me at all. I already hate him for his attitude towards MJ post marriage and cornering her about divorce like that - now I’m supposed to put their past into the equation as well? That he’s doing all this to someone he liked before? Whatever the justification, that just makes him even more petty and cruel.

I hope this makes sense… for you it was probably his defence mechanism kicking in. For me, it’s just a more extreme version of him being a red flag. You simply can’t do that to someone you supposedly cared about at some point in your life. It makes it all more cruel and vengeful. And it was cruel enough already

so I can’t romanticize that version of Zaid , that this was all because of suppressed feelings. No, he was just a horrible petty person and now this new information makes his behavior even more inexcusable

Badar shows have mandatory two deaths, one fake /attempted assault and one landing in jail .

since Aamir is gone so next most probably will be Kashmala - My guess some video of RJ will pop up !

Asif repent , Zaid to snap out and Aira to realise that in making Asif pay she turned into him and MJ to realise what goes around comes back to bite u .

Yet zaid is such a poorly developed character. We have no idea about how he feels about anything or anyone. Only that he feels "guilty" for something or the other.

Zaid is everything they are not ! Remove all the drama

Zaid is well educated, capable guy who is well mannered and behaved . He is loyal and sincere .
He is what he shows, not two faced or manipulative which are good qualities in person .

Yes him bullying MJ with divorce divorce was absolutely big No and if went ahead with it there is no story . With yest revelation I wonder would he ever really divorced her ? Probably No - he wouldn’t have done that to her .

Oh he absolutely would have. If anything he’s a man of his word and that threat was extremely real. He told Ayra multiple times too that he’s divorcing MJ. That Zaid was not messing around.

Which is the problematic thing. Made even more problematic now with the retcon given to us now for *feelings* being the reason for such toxic behavior 🤢

So yeah he may have some of those qualities you mentioned but he’s equally vicious and vindictive when he needs to be.
