Now coming to respecting or disrespecting elders, a famous American author and a motivational speaker said ‘Respect is earned, honesty is appreciated, trust is gained and loyalty is returned ’.

The elders of the Poddar family have done nothing of the above towards Abhira for her to respect them, yet she does respect them.

To question an elder about their beliefs which she might feel is not in sync with what she has been taught by her mother or is irrelevant in today’s world isn’t disrespectful.
