Also he was trying to find Pandavas during Agyatwaas (nearly found him IMO) which would gave meant them going in for second round

I get your point

I knew that it wasn't a boon but Shakuni was confident about his dice ( in tv version ) don't know what happened in real MB so they were sure that they could win....they should've asked for thissmiley36

In Ramayan if Kaikeyi wanted her son to be the king she could've asked lifelong vanvas for Ram instead of 14 years so that her son could be the king

Even in MB Duryodhan could've easily given them lifelong exile period instead of 13+1 years

Why both the epics have simillar punishment of 14 years? Why not longer?

I read somewhere that there was a rule if the crown prince remains away from the kingdom for 12 yrs or something he cannot become king.

In Ramayan Bharat didnt wanted to be king so Ramji became king.

Being sure is one thing but nothing is infallible, I hope Duryodhan thought what I am thinking, he wasn't a fool to ignore the remote possibility of loss

No but Ram ji wasn't the crown prince when he left, so even if that were a rule, it shouldn't be applicable on Him

Just thinking about it, the kings of those days would envy the middle class of today, they wouldn't have had the kind of comfort we have today

I think they never planned to give a lifelong exile since that would become a punishment and people/citizens might revolt (just my opinion) it was always aimed to give time sufficient enough to ensure the king creates a stronghold which is difficult to overcome once returned from exile

Especially in case of Kekayi it was completely useless otherwise, I mean did she know her husband will die soon?

What if he lived for 15 more years and hence remained the king? Like Bharat would have been on Crown Prince when Ram retuned how would that help?

Bold ; but didn't she have like 2 boons? Her first wish was to exile Ram and the second was to crown Bharat as the king immediately after Ram leaves? The first boon would've only made sense if the second boon was to make bharat the king

( i know that her second boon was something simillar to this and not exactly this)

Crown Bharat as the crown Prince or Yuvaraj (which Dashrath was about to crown Ram as) not as the king, the crown prince would have taken over as the king post death of the king, and this was her first boon

Second boon was exile of Ram

Then Kaikeyi's boon was really stupid ( maybe she knew that Dhasharath would litterally die without Ram because of the curse and she did this to kill him? )

This was a really dark explanation..

I hope that's not what she thought. Because except this one time, she was always a dedicated wife and a good mother
