He didn't like how he should behave to his movie son (another nicer scene equally cut out). He didn't love the hotel scene but agreed as a juxtaposing scene and because it had been done nicely by Amitji directing. And he had opposed to the redeeming ending od Maya and Dev getting together (he would have preferred that she won't be able to make him remark Maya at the train...which would leave the end open).

I liked Dev a lot...it was a quite raw character portray but I fully can relate to what he didn't like...and he had been right...all this had been points why a part of the Indian audience rejected the movie (which became clear in the media discussions).

In Germany, the movie was loved a lot (like in the West in general), but that is due to another movie-cultural situation.

As for PC... no, Karan had been wrong to make this remark on social media (and SRK was quite angry about).

It was okay (imo) that Gauri - privately, at a Mannat party where she deliberately invited her - made clear to PC that she doesn't want her husband to work with her anymore... her joining Karan into ousting her is just a rumour which I don't believe (it's not in her character, I think), but I instantly would that believe of Karan doing.

I was upset that the deleted scene of SRK and Preity cheering on son Arjun was also cut out. What a huge mistake, especially Preity's tragic line at the end that SRK is the best father and best husband. Karan cut too many significant scenes from that movie, including the one where Rani teaches him to be a better person and say "sorry, thank you." When he says it at the end of the movie on his knees it makes no sense without the context of those deleted scenes. I thought SRK's character was quite horrible to his son but it worked for the comedy in those football scenes. I had no idea Amitji was responsible for directing the love scene. Did Karan feel he did not have enough experience in that department to accurately direct? I do not agree with SRK's choice for the ending. I'll just say here that it's good he's an actor and not a writer. I know he has a lot of direct involvement on his films and tends to have firm control but in this case, I'm glad Kjo stuck to his guns. The film would not have worked with the ending SRK wanted.

I find Dev's character sympathetic. I think all the people who hate on him are ones who have not suffered the trauma he has so they can't understand him or his bitterness. You have to lose something you love to feel the way he does.

Yeah, it was an overwhelming success in the west, especially America. I heard KANK broke a lot of Indian records in western countries so not surprised to hear that about Germany.

What was the remark Kjo made about Priyanka publicly on social media? I'm glad Gauri confronted Priyanka. Priyanka actually used to be my second favorite actress but how fake she is has completely turned me off of her. I don't think there's ever been an actor I've admired so much that I just can't tolerate at all now like Priyanka. I don't know if Gauri was responsible for pushing Priyanka out of BW or not but she whines all the time in American interviews about how certain forces pushed her out so that seems to imply more than one person. Has Priyanka forgotten that she ruined her image with Akshay and Salman as well.

The secret is he doesn't have SRK anymore. I found it very telling that he was saying that someone needs to cast SRK in a mature love story now and Rani had to tell him that he should do it. This implies to me that Karan knows SRK isn't interested in working with him anymore so he doesn't even consider himself likely as being able to make such a film with him.

I'm sure you already know all this dirty laundry but for your sake, I shall repeat the stories. We all know that she and Akshay had an affair and Twinkle made it very clear that Akshay would never work with Priyanka again. So she sabotaged herself on that.

With Salman, their first feud began when she refused his Mr. Aur Mrs. Khanna movie which he took as a personal insult. This, I'm inclined to side with PC because that film was truly awful so I don't blame her for not wanting to be associated with a trainwreck. Salman, bless his heart, was able to forgive her but I don't blame him for besmirching her after she publicly turned him down again. After committing to Bharat, which could have been her grand comeback to BW (I still gave her the benefit of the doubt at this point, so I was rooting for a comeback), she turned it down to act with a Chris in Hollywood for a film that I think was never even made. I have never seen anyone destroy their career in their home country so quickly.

It was an experimental film and like great classics such as Silsila, it only flopped in India. It did exceedingly well overseas.

But has Dharma really had no films from 2016-2023 succeed that didn’t star Alia ?
