Deepika was such a disappointment in this scene.

This could have been done so much better.

This one scene alone cements her as a Bollywood legend for good. The music, the chase, that slow stroll to the fire – hands down the best moment of the century so far. Bhansali hit his peak right there. He's not topping that anytime soon.

I was toh sobbing during this scene but was surprised to see the white lady sitting next to me visibly shaken by it. Sometimes truth has to be spelled out for people to realize it’s gravity.

Watching it again. What a powerful scene . Shahid and Ranveer were so good in that ultimate dual. The BGM is top class.Such an impactful scene ,despite Deepika’s jarring dialog delivery.

I like this scene too. The background music, the red color, the song.... Bhansali brought it all together and elevated the emotion 👍... Ranveer was good too. Deepika looked stunning and glad that she didn't have much to talk.

The bgm was really haunting in this scene. The part that hurt me the most was the pregnant woman going down the stairs holding the hand of her little daughter. That was really terrible to watch. I kept on thinking, the poor girl may not be even knowing in another few minutes she's going to die. smiley19

I know lot of people criticized the scene claiming it glorifies jauhar/mass suicide but it does not. It shows its not easy to even take this decision of ending one's life. The women here chose death over getting r*ped everyday by their enemies and it was not an easy decision to make. Just take the example of that pregnant woman. She could have thought of living for her child but she knows the enemies are anyway gonna kill her unborn child by r*ping her everyday. It was indeed a bold and courageous decision that those women in those days took.

I miss the days when she and Aish were Bhansali's muses. Now we have Animal Bride.

Deepika Padukone was alright in this scene, I have watched it once and don't want to watch it again, it is quite difficult to watch it.

I think Deepika Padukone is better at expressing herself with her facial expressions than she is with her dialogues, only if her dialogue delivery were as good as a her facial expression her roles would have had more gravitas not that she doesn't have it now, it would have been just better.
