Subhash Ghai might or might not be a creep & if he was he would've already got what he wanted during Pardes.

Mahima was Ghai's muse and he did infact want her for Taal but she broke her 3 film contract with Mukta Arts by signing Daag: The Fire when she wasn't allowed to sign with outer production houses. Also did some shows that she wasn't allowed to do. It was an absolutely unfair contract but a contract nonetheless. That's where the fallout happened & Mahima was dropped from Taal.

In retrospect, what a terrible choice by Mahima. Not sure what she was thinking.

Being considered and being offered are two different things.

For Taal, apart from Ritu Chaudhary, Kapoor sisters, Manisha koirala and Aishwairya Rai were considered but the role of Mansi was offered only to Rai and nobody else and she was really good in Taal, unlike in Pardes, where the role of Ganga was actually offered to Dixit but was later played by Chaudhary.

Ritu Chaudhary must have been under impression that Ghai would offer her three consecutive films he was going to make and hence she thought Taal belonged to her, she might have misread the contract.

This is specifically the part where Mahima claims to be betrayed by Aishwarya.
