I never watched Rekha in movies, only saw or red about her obsessing over Amitabh(not sure how much those rumors were true though)

Watched many telugu movies of Sri devi and absolutely loved her, so voted for Sridevi.

Sridevi by a long shot IMO. She was much more versatile than Rekha not just as an actress but also a dancer, had amazing screen presence, and just fit into variety of roles and characters. Rekha got stuck in the middle class wife or village girl kind of roles.

Having said that, and based on what I’ve read and heard (not personal observation) Rekha has done much better films.

I am too young to comment on Rekha. Havent watched her stuff

There was a reddit thread about Rekha and Jaya's friendship. How starting off in the industry, Rekha went to Jaya for guidance and thought of her as an older sister and mentor. Jaya gave her advice on how to improve her acting. When Jaya was dating Amitabh, Rekha would come along on their dates and sit in the back of the car for their outings. However, when they got married, Rekha was not invited to the wedding. She also found out that Jaya was talking about her to the press saying that Rekha was lazy and did not bother trying to act. Rekha was furious and felt this was a betrayal as she thought of Jaya as a sister and closest friend but Jaya thought nothing of her. Rekha realized Jaya just liked playing the role of mentor and would give advice to anyone so Rekha was nothing special too her.

As Rekha is known for being bisexual and having female partners, many have speculated that her infatuation was not with Amitabh but with Jaya. That she never forgave Jaya for slighting her and her constant teases about an affair with Amitabh to this day are actually just her making digs at Jaya and getting revenge on her for spurning her.

Sridevi and Rekha both play nagins who face off against their dushmans in similar climactic dance numbers.
