You need to start watching light hearted rom com kdramas and then go to dark dramas. That way you will understand the cultural aspects more and will get used to some stuff. I connect more with the emotional aspect of kdramas than western dramas.

I have heard great reviews for the glory and it's been on my watch list. When I feel like watching something heavy I will watch it.

I found k dramas overrated always showing Same story and Too many kisses in the k dramas (No Offense to K Dramas) I Miss The Old Days When Shows Like SATC, Gossip Girl Are Based On Lavish Lives Only HBO Made The Idol Which I liked I mostly Like Lavish Lives and Party Shows also good comedies like the office and Curb Your Enthusiasm

Try flower of evil. It's a well acted well made suspense thriller. It has one of the best written female leads.
