YMCA is a hit song by the Village People. Named after Greenwich Village, a queer-friendly neighborhood in NYC. The members of the band dressed up in macho gay tropes - cop, construction worker, cowboy, GI, leatherman, Native American. The song is considered a gay anthem along with the Village People discography.

Ironically, Trump used YMCA and Macho Man (another Village People song) as his campaign songs in 2020.
