Both superstars Rekha and Sridevi starred in atypical roles for Hindi cinema heroines in 1988. Both played wronged woman who go from being innocent and believing in justice to becoming vigilantes whose only goal is to get revenge on the man who ruined their lives. Both films were considered groundbreaking back then as this type of film was typical for actors but actresses had yet to play action roles like this.

Haven’t seen Sherni but Rekha was terrific in KBM esp in the second half she was such a star. Her voice added so much power to her character.I rem as a child I used to get so scared whenever that movie came..thanks to that crocodile scene.smiley19

Haven't heard about sherni have to Google now.

Rekha was mind-blowing in KBM. I got extreme fear of crocodiles after that movie. Only rekha's dresses when she became model looked comical.

My vote also goes to Khoon Bhari Maang. Wonderful film and my favorite Rekha role. The supporting cast is also great.

Sherni was good but I feel half the screentime doesn't even focus on Sridevi. The supporting cast here is not memorable enough like in Khoon Bhari Maang to make up for the scenes where the lead heroine isn't onscreen.

Both films end in a climactic chase scene on horseback with the heroine armed with rifle.

I have not seen Sherni but Khoon Bari Maang was amazing, so was Rekha. I remember seeing that crocodile scene it traumatized me as a kid. The songs were so good. The 80's had the most horrific fashion scene going on with loud make up.

This is the film that cemented Rekha's reputation as a gay/camp icon.

It seems no one else here has watched Sherni but she's quite good in it and the movie deserves to be watched.
