Oh I love Alia now. I’m not sure if it’s because the bar overall has fallen but yeah this new era is not working for me. If she’s going to be the face of nepotism and BLOCK others from rising, then I’m here for it and support it. If you actually think about it, all the nepo’s after Alia have truly failed. She took the top slot and shut the door for others. She may actually be saving us if you think about it
Hail whoever concerned for making the impossible happen..

You are comparing chalk and cheese.....If I had to go for a surgery and I get to know that this is the young Doctor's first surgery....I would run away to Timbaktu...to SAVE my life......First time actor.....2 hours ruined.....that is about it....
If everyone thinks like this then the poor young doc would be still waiting to perform his first surgery till he is a poor old doc 😂
Audience aint dumb, talentless actors (be it outsiders or insiders) will be shown the door faster than we think..yes privilege will give Suhana, Khushi, Jahnvi, Sara etc some more opportunities..but no producer wants to lose their money at the end of it..and hence you get a gorgeous woman like Tripti finally cast over Sara, even if for a raunchy part, atleast she finally is getting her due..(aah it pains me to see it coming from Vanga movie, but whatever as long as people finally watch Qala and Bulbul, and see the powerhouse actress that she is)..its moving in the right direction..yes its not fair to the talented outsiders..buts that the case in any profession..it takes longer..but eventually talent and or X factor like star aura wins...Alia sustained, yes because of the opportunities, but also because she made the most of it as well..unlike these faltu bogus newbies..who are literally squandering it..Archies is an excellent opportunity..the margin of this being bad was actually so low..a sweet innocent teen drama with a social message..its not a Qala where you need to perform from the depths of your soul..and YET nobody got it right..not the director, not the scriptwriter and most definitely NOT the actors. and the one who came out on the tops is Vedang Raina, a rank outsider.Originally posted by: Shaitan-Haiwan

Don't know about others....but mujhe apni jaan pyaari hai...
FilmiDhun, I just read your review and I'm thankful that you took your time to write your detailed thoughts, especially about the ensemble cast.
As I never came in contact with the Archie comics or the already existing filmizations, I had no references beforehand. But you explain your expectations/hope so well that I can understand your disappointment. I grew up with other comics which had been filmed with real persons and I can relate to what you wrote.
After all the flack that I read, it feels nice to get to know that my (quite positive) view of the characters/performances hadn't been totally wrong.
With your explanations, though, I can better see where the filmmaking failed (direction, scripting). And strangely, a part of Suhana's acting also made me think of theatre-acting (which I thought of being meant to show a certain artificiality/ snobby attitude contrasting to when she shed this in other scenes for a more natural and emotionally genuine behaviour).
