That's just one review. Her character was the worst written so I think that's what the critics took into account. Zoya totally screwed up Betty's character. She would have never run after Archie like that.

Dialogue delivery was ehhh none of them are great at Hindi.

I have never seen so many analogies in a movie review before. Did this writer have a word quota he had to reach? Or was this his run around way of saying the film is mediocre and so is Zoya’s writing and direction? Because that’s sort of the impression I got after reading all that. I don’t think he was impressed by the acting either but did enjoy that other four’s (not Archie, Betty, and Veronica) story arcs more.

I don't know with what kind of mindset these people watched the movie (if they even watched it...somehow I doubt...or they didn't get any emotional connect).

I bet that negativity comes because of bias and not because of performances or content.

Or - maybe - it's my connect to what goes on/can go on in youngsters and between youngsters and parents.

In my eyes (and feeling), it was a fine ensemble performance where each got a possibility to shine...and shine they did - in their respective role... no unbelievable character portray.

I also liked the subject, the interpersonal changes (visible in the change of body language and behaviour)...and the friendship-theme.

So, now, after a prolonged second viewing, I'll read the reviews (from my side no comments about how they spoke Hindi...but the music was gorgeous...energetic, lovely, infectious smiley1

So you want us to pretend that people are criticizing the movie and pretend like its great? Why should we live in such delusion? Just cuz SRK's daughter is in it we have to turn our brains off?

Zoya has made a bad film. The lack of character development is making the actors appear worse than they are. Atleast that's the consensus. Had the roles been written well, the outcome could've been different. She's gone downhill since the abomination of Made in Heaven 2

That's just one milquetoast review I could post here. If I were to post all the bad reviews, we'd run out of pages here.

However, I think the actors can't have a lot to do if the movie and characters are badly written, especially in their debut. Zoya really screwed it up.

God knows why Zoya Akhtar wanted to make this boring movie. Shall watch the remaining later tonight.

One review said its story could've been wrapped up in 45 mins 😄
