I don’t think SM sentiment is reflective of general consensus. The two viewer profiles (SM and TV) are very very different. TV viewers like drama, gossips, relationships, and this season is rife with that. SM viewers, on the other hand, like fights and more fights (which this season has lacked).
If you go back to the original concept (season 1 to season 7), it was very similar to this. Short tasks, mostly talking, and fewer fights. Then from BB they tried a different format which did we initially but overtime didn’t do good viewership (insane dip from BB6 to BB15).
Last season they reverted to the original concept and it did well. Iss saal bhi acha chal raha hai.
I started watching from BB3 and I prefer this concept much more than BB10-BB15. I hated those long tasks, unnecessary fights and chillam chilli.
