Ranbir is good Actor who can't understand or decide that what he is going to play on screen will impact audience. Uper se he is declaring a previous film of Director to be the best love story, this is another level of desperation.

He is equally and more responsible for this mess.

I think its all out of desperation to get a Box office hit. This movie has given him the hype he wanted. He doesn't care about the movies political incorrectness or impact on youth or whatever. Plus this movie gives him a image makeover from chocolate boy/man-child image to a Alpha male.

Is there any member who denounced Shahid n Kabir Singh but is defending Ranbir n Animal? 😄

Actress Trisha Krishnan for eg , who is the most long standing and popular actress in Tamil cinema currently , who also shot down an actor who made vile comments abt her recently, posted a story admiring the film/ranbir …

She then deleted it (I’m assuming coz of the political incorrectness that comes with liking a film like this and the appearance of it)

My point is exactly this …why should people incl accomplished, successful women feel ashamed to admire a film that they like? Why should their opinions be controlled to this extent?

They should say what they feel like abt a film without the threat of being judged

Because when we watch on screen it invokes many kind of emotions in us hence it's enjoyable. Problem is not liking a movie, Problem is when subconsciously ppl start normalising problematic behaviour in real life.

Vanga said that in love both can hit each other. But it's not acceptable to every couple. This way a man n woman will beat each other n say they did in love. In Kabir Singh n animal women also slap men n vice versa.

Men r stronger than women so women will end up getting more abused. All violence will be justified.

Is he not capable enough on his Acting to get box office success avoiding this kind of film?

I would rather see him as Jordan & fail, than Ranvijay & succeed. That flop has earned him Respect, that success will earn him Disgust.

'Why should women/men/millionaire directors/multimillionaire actors be ashamed of doing/watching/making/cheering for a movie that propagates violence against women as that is their freedom of speech' also comes with the clause that other people are free to bash and question them for their choices as that is their right to freedom of expression as well. That is how a free public sphere works.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

Whether art impacts audience or not, it obviously does; refer to the impact Dostana had in opening up convos on lgbtq issues despite being horrid.

And popular actors do hold sway which is why so many of them get ainvayi ke election tickets despite being incompetent in public policy.
