As vidya balan said in a Roundtable discussing why she liked shahid as kabir Singh …”don’t try to tell me what my voice should sound like”

✌️

Ranbir's character was presented as a hero, Bobby was presented as a villain that too not one whom you are supposed to despise but someone who would appeal to the masses, was clear with the promotional campaign and the movie

Ranbir's character faces no repercussions for what he did in fact there will be part 2 with this character saving his family 🤦‍♀️ Ran Vijay wasn't presented as an anti hero, his actions were glorified and justified in the name of love for his father and family

For example -

SRK is celebrated for Darr and Baazigar but his characters weren't glorified, people loved his performance but characters didn't have a happy ending

As for who’s to blame for a movie like Animal? Vanga. Yes the producers and actors brought his idea to fruition. But this is his brain child.

Here’s an old video of Aamir Khan that is very relevant to this topic.

What a gem 💍of a video you posted👍🏻

Best is it's of Aamir

There will be silence🤫, no comments on Lord Aamirsmiley36

But what he said is true. Only time i am appreciating what he said.

See all this violence, abuse is entertaining on screen when it's happening to someone else, not your favorite star but the moment it happens to you or your loved one, that's when you realize it's not fun. A smaller violence like pointing gun at you, firing bullets blindly are ghastly experiences in real life. Man- handling women is tormenting for her, it may look cool to some toxic men. Rape is a horror for life. So Why trivialize them?

To those buying tickets and enjoying must think twice, because this is propagating such ideas. They appeal first and then comes acceptance and unfortunately then it is norm. 😣

Whew. Women really can't catch a break. They are to be blamed even for a movie that a man makes. smiley36

I am really struggling to understand the perspective of "celebrating Ranbir's performance and success, not the movie."

Firstly, the movie and the protagonist are inherently tied together. Secondly, and more importantly - where is the moral line? How far can our favorites go till we can continue to celebrate their work in good faith? If SRK had done this role, I would have criticized him and refused to celebrate it. I'd rather celebrate my favorite in a flop but meaningful movie than success with such a moral cost. I know the line is different for different people. But knowing the things said and done in this movie, I find it unconscionable that Ranbir fans, especially those who consider themselves feminists, would support it. It just feels so extremely disappointing. It's just another thing that deeply shakes your faith in other humans.

What you described about the movie doesn’t sound kosher but I’ll have to see it play out. Thanks for sharing that ✅

SRK s next film is with a Metoo accuse.

People applauding Jack gleeson s performance is not equal to supporting Joffrey.

No, they are being blamed for celebrating the glorification of violence against women in a movie made by a man.
