She didn't win in the year OP mentioned but beyond that Sridevi did win 2 times. Did she flex her ego those years ?Originally posted by: Shaitan-Haiwan

As a Sridevi fan, I was disheartened but Vidya was not less-deserving in any way.
Kahani was a such a big hit, and Vidya was brilliant,.
If I am not wrong, Priynaka did win the Critics award. I wish they went ahead with a TIE that year between Sridevi and Vidya for the Popular category.
So, all three would´ve been happy.
But yes, in 2017... it should've been Sridevi.
Tumhari Sulu was cringe.
I mean, Sri was legit the wife of a big producer (whose own son's continues to get movies due to his influence) and was the highest paid actor of her time but let's bring in nepotism in this conversation where her other competitor was a channel director's daughter because that makes perfect sense.
I'm talking about English Vinglish. I don't think she deserved awards for Mom.Originally posted by: Peaceful786
Mom received two awards at the 65th National Film Awards: Best Actress (Sridevi, the first posthumous award in that category) and Best Background Score (Rahman).
I am not talking about salary at allOriginally posted by: Peaceful786
Sridevi's salary for English Vinglish was ₹1 crore. Compare to 50 Lakh previously
The increase in salary was due to the success of English Vinglish, which was a critical and commercial success. In bollywood movies gets super hit 'cause of starcast. I never watch new movies but i always read Tarun Adarsh's blog.
Her National Film Award for Mom felt more like a posthumous way to honor her. It's pretty telling that in all the years she was alive, they never bothered awarding her.
