For ex, Alia in Rocky Rani was terrible with her mumbayya Hindi when she was supposedly playing a Delhi born Bengali Cambridge returned high flying literate. They don’t do any basic homework on their characters. Ulta they take pride in not putting in any prep work like as if acting just flows out of their genes or something. Just yelling and dressing up impeccably like a model is what it seems they take acting for.

I was thinking about this when I watched Sam Bahadur trailer. Vicky, the actor, is not primarily English-speaking. But I could totally believe he was an old-time Parsi who was educated in Britain.

Secondly, Ms. Marvel is in English. She wouldn't need Hindi for it.

Heck, even literal kids (as opposed to star kids) I know who do local theater in the middle of the cornfields of Illinois do diction classes with coaches. They speak English. Midwestern English. Which won't work for Shakespeare or regular Broadway-type shows.

There's a difference between that and not knowing how to communicate in that language.

The tutor is not based in SRK's circle. Tutors work with many people. It's on a contract basis. Same with singing. That's why Michael Jackson has the same singing tutor as the guy from Family Guy who voices the annoying characters.

The person I talked to said this when we were talking about how expensive pre-debut prep can be. Some people like Junaid have prepared for almost 1.5 decades now.

You're misunderstanding me. SRK let Suhana audition for Ms. Marvel because it was in English. But it's very hard to get cast in Hollywood. She didn't get it. So people were curious why she wasn't looking at Bollywood yet. Because obviously everyone will tune in to that. And then I was told SRK was hesitant because Hindi...yada yada, and he had hired a tutor.

I am sure she knows the basics, but obviously SRK doesn't want his daughter coming in with Ananya/ debut Janhvi levels of Hindi.

Staff do have to sign non-disclosure contracts. I doubt the tutor of that level talked out of school. I'm going to say your source is at best exaggerating and at worst has a skewed idea of what it is to know how to communicate in a language.

This is why aspiring actors take diction classes. It's part of learning acting. On one hand, star kids are trolled for being entitled and not doing any homework. On the other, when they're actually doing work, they're getting trolled for what exactly? Not doing it earlier? Not growing up knowing they want to pursue acting and therefore not learning it along the way?

We've never seen Suhana speak in Hindi at all, not even during promotions when Khushi and the Android girl are managing Hindi in their weird accents. People do get skeptical when she's altogether avoiding speaking a word of even Hinglish. Her first movie is about to be released, she would have to speak in Hindi sooner or later. And growing up around BW folks, her dad's movies, and Mumbai? You're bound to speak Hindi.

The thing is nobody from the last two decades have been fantastic orators or to the level of what Amitabh and older actors spoke, so Hinglish is still fine. Deepika and Alia speak in a god awful way; the less said the better about Kat and other top heroines in the past two decades. So, there is not a whole lot of pressure to speak fantastically. I just wonder why she hasn't spoken even a lick of Hindi anywhere.

I hope you know NDAs are an absolute joke after a while. Who cares that someone has a diction tutor? You can't get an NDA for mentioning your teacher has a separate client (which EVERYONE would know about because the security needs to come along too lol and they'd park their stuff in the parking lot).

Half of Ranbir/Alia/Shraddha's staff are on reddit. The smaller staff don't get NDAs.

She's going to communicate in the language she uses daily when she's not shooting. Yes, Mumbai's younger gen does communicate in Hinglish. That is their language.

She is taking Hindi classes to act in Hindi movies because Hinglish/colloquial Hindi won't be enough for the movies. Isn't that what trollers always claim they want star kids to do? Actually work for it instead of assuming audience will watch no matter what they do.

She's still entitled to use her own language to communicate off the sets. Mumbai Hinglish. She doesn't need to put on a fake persona (which I think she does anyway, but she doesn't have to).

Once again, what you're saying is your source said she can't communicate in Hindi. There is a diff between that and a diction tutor. Which is why I'm saying your source is exaggerating.

Voice acting is something that many actors disregard. Which is why when some of the rare ones get it right, we as audiences can instantly notice the difference. Amitabh bachchan is a good example where his voice and dialogue delivery play a major part in his acting. Happy to have Vicky who belongs to this rare category of actors.

NDA's are there, but some people love to talk. Otherwise we wouldn't have found out about Robert Galbraith.
