I guess you could say Esha Deol, Hema Malini's business empire made her richer than both Dharmendra and Bachchan in raw assets which is why she had such a big launch for her daughter.

Yes. Hema Malini launched Shah Rukh Khan several years ago, similarly she took on a lot of unique talent. They have an entire empire of assets - basically they hire good talented folk who then end up winning lots of awards.

Hema is really good at business. She lays low so people don't realize she practically lives a separate life from her "husband" - in fact, Hema is rumored to have a separate relationship with another guy in Chennai for many years now. Back then mafia pressure was big, and her mom was an @ss, so Hema married Dharam, but unlike others, Dharam only married her for clout and refused to speak/visit her unless it was by appointment. Hema was the darling of all the 70s grandmas, so she promptly launched a bajillion dresses, cookbooks, tv shows, dance dramas, now politics...etc and made a ton of cash.

Madhuri Dixit is now trying the same thing. The doctor husband is producing Marathi movies under something called RNM pictures. The issue is because of the dodgy financial aspect (producers end up losing money often), she may have to go into politics - why is Hema Malini in Mathura?

This is why every year someone speculates that Madhuri will join BJP/politics.
