Just my 2 cents
Hero in this movie will definitely not be normal, he is a psychopathic ,they mentioned it long back in the articles too.
Even in Arjun reddy, in the trailer itself they introduced hero as a person who has anger management issues , and side characters telling him"If anyone go deep into anything they will get zero in the end"..
Arjun reddy character was not likeable at all, Each and every scene was eyeroll worthy/scandalous starting from him kissing the heroine in the first meet/sight itself in front of everyone in the college and the way he behaved with her parents when they got caught kissing on the terrace, and heroine was also not normal, She was shown her head bowing down with blank face with zero expressions when a guy who just met her kissed on her cheek in front of everyone, she hardly had any dialogues, she was there just to be kissed by hero/for making out scenes. Rest of the movie filled with hero being on self destructive path losing his sanity addicting to drugs, alcohol, substance abuse.. all leading to losing his medical license for 5 yrs..It was a problematic character who was punished by the surrounding people. Of course in movie their relationship was toxic, they deserved each other in the end as they still loved/obsessed with each other with all their toxic characters .What made the movie worth watching was VD's acting, engaging screenplay and engaging story telling even though the story was utter crap.
Here Ranbir character will be psychopathic, problematic , criminal(most probably) , psychotic, mysogynistic, and many toxic traits will be there.. It looks worth watching for Ranbir's acting and i feel it will be engaging with all the scandalous acts hero will do in the movie.
So it's definitely not for the people who want to watch the movie with decent, normal, sane characters.
Ranbirs character is not a hero - hes playing a toxic character clearly, ill watch for his acting and action obviously. But I know many ppl who cant watch such action on big screen.
Maybe some ultra violent actions are only imagined (those against the men with the masked heads)...
It really depends on the story...
Still one week/6 days to go.

It's definitely not my genre, I will get migraine if I end up watching such a high voltage drama for 3:20 mins. Even while watching Arjun reddy on TV I started checking my phone in the midway when their love story was playing, their love story was eyerollworthy. I got engaged into the movie when he turned self destructive and i kept on watching it from that point to see how much he destroy himself and how low he will go and what is the end point of his destruction and who will stop that, and to know what is the climax. After watching it, all i thought was.. Chalo VD gave an amazing performance and it was worth watching for his screen presence and acting and i was shocked bcz I didn't know his existence before that movie, he was a revealation with that movie and became overnight sensation.
Just leaving this here. India is as of now certainly not a place where movies could just be...movies. It's become polarised and extreme. It's also to do with Vanga's brand of cinema. You really have to think. Many movies have shown villains, anti-heroes in BW and overall Indian cinema, but none get as glorified as the leading men of Vanga's movies. Why? Bahubali had Bhallaladeva disrespecting Anushka's character, being a bad son, Rana was admired for his acting. But the audience didn't worship his character. Bhallaladeva was as masculine and alpha as they come. It's all the treatment of the character and story telling, despite being a fierce warrior and shown to be winning in earlier part of the movie, his character was never glorified. Vanga knows what he's doing. I just can't believe people are falling for his schtick. Irrespective of the actors in his movies doing good acting, there is much to be critiqued about the portrayal of anti-heroes in his movies.

Thiis is what bugs me so much about his movies. Some might brush it off as just a movie, but the impact these films have on innocent minds is no joke. Just when we're making a bit of progress in the right direction, movies like these set humanity back ten steps. And the director himself gives off some seriously dark and violent vibes, not just in his movies. I was watching an interview with Anupama, and he's like, 'I'd show them what violence is'—like, that's him on camera. Can you imagine how violent and threatening he must be off-screen?
^ Ranbir would be shown as anti-hero whereas it's a clear cut Villain character. Nice analogy with Bhallaldeva, yes that's the difference in execution.
I agree with the fact that Vanga reddy glorified Arjun reddy's character to an extent by showing the hero being unapologetic for most of his deeds in the movie, and with heroic music playing in the back ground.
I nowhere said that the characters should not be critiqued. I myself wrote how problematic his character was in AR. And it was satisfying to see him losing medical license in the movie for 5 years, I wrote that each and every scene was eyerollworthy and scandalous but I give credit where it is due. I never thought I would watch Arjun reddy after watching the trailers. I ended up watching it randomly on TV when some channel was playing it to know why this movie was called controversial by half of the people or why it became hit. All I said was why AR was worth watching for me.
And people watch movies for various reasons. I personally don't get impacted by any movies. And I'm not justifying anything in the movie or anything in the Animal trailer.
I made that post as I thought few people may not be aware about the info that he is psychopathic in the movie, so wanted to share that info, it's like prior warning to the people too that what to expect in this movie and for the matter of fact i was just saying it's not for the people who want to watch sane, normal characters and it's definitely not for the people who get influenced by them.

I agree. You don't see Joker (2019) in multiple romantic songs with a female lead. There are many directors who have handled problematic main characters quite well, but I don't believe Vanga is one of them after watching Kabir Singh. Hopefully Animal is different.
Thanks for the link! It is extremely sad that they are some men like him. Irrespective of education or no education there are some who believe that gf or partner or wife has to be "controlled" through physical abuse. Unfortunately 70% of women in India are victims of domestic violence.
