India gave a good fight but considering the off-field issues, I withdrew myself from semis & finals, so it didn't hurt the finals loss. I enjoyed their performances until the league stage.

BCCI shouldn't have tampered with pitches, if there was indeed a specific reason for fresh pitches not to be used then they should have declared it in public but as usual PR is worse. For years now, fresh pitches are used for semis & finals in 50 over ODI WC.

Actually, BCCI's pitch nonsense came to haunt India in the finals - a fresh wicket would've given both teams equal opportunity. India had to struggle for runs, with dew it became easy for Aus to score them - luck wasn't on their side.

If India even won the WC, people might have whined we cheated & won, this tag would've stayed with us forever & all those naysayers, jealous ones had to drag this on & on.

Everything good must come to an end. Always had huge respect for Rohit, it only grew leaps & bounds.

Don't be hurt folks, ignore the social media nonsense. Chin up

Pitch wasn't tampered it was changed there is a difference between these two. While yes they shouldn't have changed it, but ICC statement clarifies that they had all the right to do that without taking permission from others..

And again that pitch worked well for both teams. Nothing of that sort happened in finals

Even in 2011 WC Ashwin played only some matches.

Now Prasid Krishna can tell he's part of 2023 WC.

yes Rohit, Kohli, Ashwin were part of winning WC teams out of the squad. There are going to be many changes by the time next WC arrive - we may not have Rohit, Virat, Shami, Ashwin around for another 4 years. Iyer with his short pitch vulnerability might be doubtful, if he doesn't improve against short pitch especially in non-subcontinental wickets. Hardik & his vulnerable body makes it highly doubtful - we need to find alternatives for Hardik - Shivam Dube is the only closest we have tried & failed so far.

I think Virat and hope Shami will be there but definitely not rest and that's why this hurts the most.

SKY may be there

Changing pitch is similar to pitch tampering - when it comes to ICC events. The point is not whether its beneficial to one team or not, we shouldn't have touched it & even if it had to be changed - they should have made a public announcement for the reason.

For the semis, the pitch was good for batting - cutting the grass, actually made it good for second team to bat on or else it could've turned into another nightmare for the team batting second - win toss, bat first like how previous T20 WC went on, team winning toss ended up winning tournament.

In finals - the pitch was slow while India batted due to the dryness of the surface, I think even cricinfo had an article about it how it came to haunt them back. India had to struggle to nudge singles, but because of dew ball was flying off the bat when they were batting, made it easier for them.

Now, lets be a neutral & take ICC statement at face value - will you believe it ? Heck, even being Indian I am not able to trust them. Yes, home team has a right to change the pitch but did you see what happened with the finals related debate ? They changed Ahmedabad to used pitch & ICC curator wasn't happy - when media tried to contact authorities they asked to contact GCA, GCA curator claimed they got instructions from BCCI to do so. Now, you be the judge - each blaming each other.
