That had always been the plan when putting Salaar against Dunki...it's a kind of 'tit-for-tat' as AA didn't get the distribution rights for Jawan (among other reasons).

It's the second time that AA works together with the BJP-affiliated production house that made the KGF movies and Salaar. The first time, Thadani distributed a Hombale Films produced south Indian movie against a SRK movie had been Christmas 2018 with KGF 1 against Zero.

So, it's just a continuation after a gap of five years...

Imo, one can enjoy both the movies as they are different genres.

I dunno man, Tu Jhooti main makkar, Tiger 3, Rocky rani were 2.5 to 3hrs long movies and I could see the ppl in theatre getting restless I personally was finding it difficult to sit through TJMM despite the good humour, big cast, gr8 music.

Animal has none of the above upar se saadhe teen ghante ki duration, I'd rather watch Sam Bahadur if I had to just for that reason alone unless wo bhi 3 ghante ki hai

Baaki in the 2nd clash (which I am still doubtful ki it will happen or not) Dunki all the way, I had my fill of action movies this yr bas ab aur nhi jhel paungi. Plus I liked the drop, SRK looked gr8 in Pathani ✌️

Absolutely, he even say it himself that each of his movies is a new challenge to him.

I meant the "has nothing to prove" in the sense of being a relatable leading man in a movie.

KGF 1 surely was no threat to anyone..even in the south.The director and actor's names were unknown.

I agree to that, although, when Zero failed to attract audience, KGF got additional screens.

Yet I still think that there is an agenda behind, especially because Jawan had so much success.

I am hoping it to be a BangBang-Haider scenario for Animal-SamBahadur. Chances look slim.

A very unique clash. The more commercial film made more total money (bang bang) but Haider recovered more of their costs.

That would have been the case had it not been for the gore and machismo being showcased in Animal. Indian audiences, or atleast the recent movie going audience thrives on gali galoch, false bravado and alpha male type characterisations of leading male. Animal ticks all of those boxes. Kabir Singh did not have a story at all, it was most generic love story that has been done to death. But people flocked to theatres because of the above reasons. 🤷‍♀️
