What you mean by pseudo feminism in dhadkan? I stopped when they were focusing on her ex. I loved the young male lead. I wanted them to be together so it will be progressive. But i was ok with they not ending up together also. But i hated the ex lover story 😖
Deepika essentially left her fiancee because he was unsupportive of her becoming emergency surgeon because she will become too busy and he won't be able to look after family. He was not against her job, she can do any normal job which suits her but, he was against her becoming emergency surgeon which demands huge commitments from her. Due to this, she left her love of her life. This was the premise of the show.
Now, shouting gender equality, my life my rules is easy but, I would have liked her to show that it was indeed possible, it was indeed possible to raise a family as well as do the job you are doing , with the help of your partner. This concept was shown in Katha Ankahee. In this way, ex would have been proved wrong but, they went for some other route which was completely obscure and unrelated. In this way, I conclude that her ex was right that it was indeed impossible for her to raise family.
I don't have sharp image of what happened next but, I do remember it was getting too much women doing everything and men are completely useless which kind of irritated me and that's why I remember it and have this image of that show that this show is pseudo-feminist.
Now, Katha Ankahee also has strong women who can handle everything but, it didn't feel pseudo-feminist. Katha was a designer, she did designs, Viaan was a CEO, he did bussiness. Both women and men worked in harmony. Both women and men had insecurities that were natural. Unlike other TV shows where FL is some sort of superhero who will save the day alone even though taking some external help is the most logical option and there is no problem with it.
Now, here I am contradicting myself because Katha is exactly doing that (saving the day alone) but, here she has a very valid reason and insecurities for thinking like this. Even though she is wrong, there are valid reasons behind this.
