Firstly, Viaan is PASSIONATE! People who are passionate do not give up on what they truly want that easily! It’s a personality trait, not an obsessive one! He isn’t FORCING himself on Katha, never did! The Viaan that asked her to sleep with him, that Viaan DOES NOT exist anymore! That Viaan was a creation of his mother’s insecurities! This is a fact! I’m trying to help you draw an understanding towards him, not defending him! SMH. His character isn’t perfect, it’s flawed! You got to understand how that Viaan was made to be like that! He didn’t ask for sexual favor, he wasn’t looking for pleasure! He only wanted to insult Kathaa for asking him for money. It was a power play he did. He didn’t think good of women back then. Because his mother had poisoned his mind against women! That act he did wasn’t consensual so it is considered as rape. HOWEVER it was more transactional than rape because in return she got her money. But that is still rape. This act is something that he regrets the most, in his life and this is what came back to haunt him and his marriage. He understands now, right from wrong and he worked hard to rectify himself. Are you someone who would continue to punish the person for making the mistake they did, even when they are wanting to learn and grow from it?! He has great remorse and never repeated that act again. Rapists on the other hand holds no remorse. They only care about satisfying themselves. Viaan isn’t like that, at least the current him!
You have to use your critical thinking skills here, and not blindly box ppl based on their actions! I know in india schools don’t teach you critical thinking skills, but use them! Try it! It would help you grow better, in life!

Justifying wrong action or giving excuse don't make his action less sin. He asked for sex in return of money. The reason could be many thing. But you can't change the fact He asked for sex.
Also make a note he badly insult Katha for asking 1 cr rs before asking for sex. When she was returning then he asked. And he asked two time. That's where he crossed limit.
I don't consider this as Power play. It is called sexual harassment. Or Eve teasing. A group of boys eve tease to a girl walking on streets, why, because they know they are in power right now.
@red, what do you mean by Forcing? You mean blackmailing? Please tell me how could someone force somebody to make the other person fall in love. Anyway I didn't use this word. The word I am using is Harrassment.
Force :- Let me think.
1. He forced Katha and other employee to do 5 days work in 2 day when it is not required. (Pls don't give me lame reason because I don't have critical thinking to understand shitty excuse
).
2. He forced Katha to answer his question. Before you say it is his passion or not giving up attitude what he truly want, it was a harrassment which was addressed by Katha also.
The main differences between our thinking is Passion vs Obsession.
Let me check the definition in Google.
1.you may start something out of passion and then cross a certain border and, suddenly, you're in the terrain of obsession. Thus, one could say that obsession is an excess of passion.
2. When your passion is obsessive, you no longer have control over it. You can't start and stop as you wish.
Viaan entering to Katha's cabin just to stare at her after the clear rejection and justifying that he can't help because he is in love and continues to show love, doesn't matter whether it makes a discomfort to other. For me it lies on the definition of obsession.
And this happen after realization of his mistake.
If something is happening between two lover, I would call it passion. But if it is happening when the other person clearly said No and continue to send gift or go and stare at her openly, I would call it obsession/harrassment.
And Katha repeatedly said she is discomfort with his repeated approach.
One thing you said rightly. "People who are passionate do not give up on what they truly want." But Katha is not a thing which he want and get it by overdoing it. Katha is a living being with feeling. You can't get it. You have to win it(/heart). And saying staring at her when she clearly said no is passion. No it's a obsession.
Last point :- I have already said and speaking it now I have no objection/problem with what Viaan is doing now.
If you have read my earlier post I said - No one should give up until marriage happen, for love you have to be utter selfish and leave self-respect.
Once the other person confessed thier love whom you love, then try hard as you can to save your love till their marriage. And in Viaan's case, they were marrying when broke up happen and that too because of family.
I am very clear with before and after realization Viaan. But I don't justify Viaan's past action (no matter from where he come from, what his mother taught him). I can debate this thing why every blame is given to Viaan's Mother. But the post is already long so I am stopping it here.
@green No. I only condemn action, not the person. Unlike you I don't justify people wrong action just because he is changed. People changes with time but can't change his past karma. People behave different with different people. It doesn't mean if the person has done something wrong to me and doing charity to others, I should forgive him. Every people are product of their family upbringing, surrounding or situation in which they brought up. But still I condemn wrong action. Doesn't matter if your intention is something else, your wrong action can't be justified.
Here, I was only drawing character sketch of Viaan based on incident. My only word is Obsession. If you have read my first post -

I don't agree with the word pyscho. Also my post is on assumption and a bit exaggeration. It was for fun. Sorry I am bad at adding emojis, learning how to improve my writing skill to convey my point clearly. But my words are very clear.
Since you gave me suggestions- I will give you one suggestion. Please don't cherry pick the line and judge the anonymous person thinking skills. If someone is writing in a paragraph then it is related to it.
For eg. My earlier post said -
"One more example is he consider Earthcon family. And next day asked for sexual favor."
Here I was pointing out Viaan hypocrisy. Not going on topic of ONS, which has been discussed long back.
