I will forever be bitter that Massey didn't win a single award for this film. In fact he has never won an award, not even for Haseen Dilruba, while Tapsee won several.
Shutu's story broke me. That ending haunts me. Such a heartbreakingly beautiful depiction of destroyed innocence. That scene when he comes back home after spending all night in the hole and realizes no one was looking for him...And to think he was based on a real person.
Also, I have to give a shoutout to the little girl who played Taani, she was perfect.
