Don't compare that with Akshara's intention of taking Neil out. In this situation, he was angry and there was no emergency. And he remained angry with her for many years)

In any story, a writer writes his/her characters with a few personal traits, and they take a few arc for character progression and keep the audience hooked. So our protagonist started off as grey, they gave him a "fallen hero arc" with the events leading to WD and sending Akshara out. Later they have to redeem him to keep him as protagonist till the end of the story. Abhinav was introduced as an extremely different character of Abhi as a part of this redemption only. Remember, he was a cameo, not a parallel lead. Akshara getting married and falling in love with Abhinav is also a part of redemption of Abhi.

First step of redemption of any character arc is "realisation" of wrong doing. Abhi realised his mistake after she saw a happy Akshara in a small family unit of Kasauli. Second is "repent" wrong doing. He was shown repenting after he learned about Abhir truth and the sufferings Akshara had to go through in keepings Abhir safe. He is still shown as repenting. Thirdly, he has to undo the wrong doings by his actions. His wrong action must had put Abhir and Akshara's life at stake. Now he has to undo that by saving this baby and Akshara. Then only his redemption will be complete. And to complete that, this marriage has to happen and Abhi has to break away from Manjari for that.

Many people consider sufferings of the protagonist after his/her wrong doing as redemption. That is actually only Karma (realisation and repent stage alone) and most of the Indian dramas stop at that level. Most of them simply white wash the characters by suddenly making them a good soul, even without a proper apology (as happened in Arohi case, suddenly she realised she can't love anyone other than Neil).

I have not seen a complete redemption arc in any Indian drama (Sorry. I don't have much experience with Indian dramas). Imlie they have tried for partial redemption of Aditya Kumar Tripathi while he saved Imlie and Aryan and they made the character exit afterwards. Katha Ankahee is a better one where they have done a better job of realisation and repent by Viaan and I hope they will redeem him fully by the end of the show.

PS: Every character arc depends on how the writer perceive of the characters and story. And in this case, writer is not considering Akshara as majorly wrong (in WD or Abhir truth), writer is perceiving her actions as a reactions to Abhimanyu's actions. That's why they have shown only a bit of character growth in her, keeping her original traits of sacrifices and gratitude in tact.

OFC, Akshara also suffered and she got her Karma of her share of mistakes while she lost her one unborn baby, being kicked out, sufferings on toofani raat, Abhir's health and finally custody case. Now also she lost her husband while she is pregnant with his baby. Karma does not spare anyone. But the character Akshara was not given "fallen hero arc" but she was shown doing her share of mistakes and so she will have only Karma in her fate, not redemption.

These are my perceptions of story from my own understanding. I am not fan of any character. And to me, Akshara and Abhimanyu are protagonists and if they want to end Abhi as a positive character, he has to undergo complete redemption. Any one feel free to disagree, in any of my thoughts please

It's clear that from the writers perspective "also" , akshara doesn't need any redemption...whatever she's being accused of basically stems from the fan girls perspective which only sees Dr Birla as the victim ...akshu doesn't regret abhin chapter of her life ..Dr rejected her and her unborn baby, refused to listen to her distress calls so it's on him...

Also, very few go through redemption because whether or not they deserve redemption is controversial. Like in Dr birlas case ..audience were more than happy with abhin , & anuj with pama aunty..another example that show (Sorry forgetting the name..) with Dr mouli ..(with Shakti Arora and drashti dhami) ..the one with ema theme...audience were not rooting for the husband wife after the husband cheated on his wife ..not always, the hero should be forgiven if he's sorry ...sometimes it's too late....sometimes the other person doesn't have the will to forgive....intense emotions always lead to impulsive decisions n they're always damaging.

I was watching this show remarriage & desires ..the fls is divorced coz her husband cheated on her ..the other woman conned him & by the time he comes to his senses its too late. He commits suicide in guilt ..later his widow takes revenge on the other woman , he understands her husband too but fails to forgive him even when he's dead.

So these things r not easy as it's on itv..akshu has on and off switch , she's pathetically written lol

.nobody was looking forward to abhira anymore , be it Dr fans or abhin fans. And this toh nobody wanted..akshu acting like a despo to marry Dr for xyz reason ...

Akshara is not clearly written as compared to Abhimanyu. But both the characters have their basic traits in tact. The character growth of Abhimanyu is better because he is the one chosen by the writer to redeem.

In the present marriage scene, I don't take both Abhimanyu and Akshara being desperate to marry each other. Both of them are doing it for Abhir (and both are not ready to let go baby).

What Akshara did for Abhir 7 years ago by marrying Abhinav, now both of them are doing. Only difference is both are not stranger to each other.

Because they know how desperate Abhir is. Abhir has trait of craving for family from Akshara, anger and extreme reactions from Abhimanyu. And looking at his non stop stunts and health condition they decided to get married.

I would never support a marriage for the sake of child's happiness while both are not fully willing. They can co parent as well. PS: The whole SM drama of taking Dr Birla as a victim of Akshara is by the fan girls of actor portraying him. Actually both are victims and both are wrong at different levels.

OFC he is a good and experienced actor, doing his job well and great looking. But being a fan of actor should not make them endorse any act by the character onscreen. Most of the fans are not able to watch the story objectively. Had there been a different actor, perhaps situation must have been different.

I don't agree with post leap being Abhimanyu's redemption chapter. Had it been the case, he wouldn't have gone through the custody case. He said sorry to Akshara saying he was wrong on the Sirat thing. Akshara had to spell out her hurt and question him on the actions of his and his family on WD. There's no realisation on his own. Even after that when he got to know about Abhir, he gave more importance to his hurt, saying how could she keep his son away and why she didn't try more to connect with him. There was no repentance.

Gen2 had better redemption arc imo. Kartik lost everything for just one question.

I find post leap to be more about Akshara and I don't find her decisions morally wrong. She had no backup in her own family. Writers have shown how Goenka fam would have tried throwing her back in Birla hell in the name of children.

Also, I believe ITV writers write with only one thing in mind, which is trp. There are very few shows with good writing.

Both were victims at different times. I dont support akshara actively hiding abhirs truth either....The victims tend to become the perpetrators due to the pain they go through . They become cold & unforgiving . But what I loved about aksharas attitude post the leap was that she grew indifferent to Dr over the time.

After abhin died both could have taken time and not come in family pressure..abhim was ready to marry arohi for ruhi & again for abhir , these kind of things r nonsense. Kids can't dictate the life decisions..nor should panic attacks & heart attacks.

Even now also writers can decide to not to go for full redemption by killing him off before he takes up baby's responsibility. In that case he will remain indebted to Abhinav for taking care of Abhir, the debt which he could not repay.
